Are you sure? I thought I saw DL wearing a necklace in his profile there and I assumed it was the same one we saw when he hollowed out Brody.

I mean, come on, those dudes look exactly alike! And I'll go ahead and save the next person the trouble by doing this myself...

After tonight's episode, I don't think Claire's dad is a bad guy now. He had the chance to shoot Nathan but didn't. And can easily kill that quarterback but didn't. As someone pointed out in earlier Heroes thread, I think Mohinda's father is Sylar.

DL looks like the guy from "Desperate Housewives" (the caged Applewhite son), while Null-n-Void is a skinnier/darker black guy. Their facial features are different, too.

I wouldn't necessarily call someone who orders mindwipes on "civilians" to be not a bad guy, just a guy working for his own purposes.

I guess I just didn't get a good enough view of DL to notice he wasn't the same person. It seems to me if they wanted to make a point they were different people, they would have done more within the show than showing him for a few seconds, in the dark, from the side. Otherwise, I think it is the intention of the show to, at least for the time being, imply they are the same person.

i was at imdb's heroes page earlier today and saw two black men listed on the show. so guess they're different.

and to be clear, I think we saw claire's foster/stepdad, not her real dad, right?

Very good. I stand corrected. Of course, he may be a shape-shifter and both actors are the same character. Yeah, I'm reaching now...
Spoiler:
However, the preview did show one of them coming out of the closet door to get Niki. Couldn't tell if that was DL or Null-N-Void, but for now I'll have to assume the former.

DL was Forrest from Season 4 of Buffy

Pretty good episode. The scene in the diner with Nathan and Hiro was good.

Greg Grunberg's story is the only one that's not interesting right nw, but they haven't spent much time with his character.

This writing is still piss poor. Why doesn't anyone notice anything the main characters do? Two japanese people screaming at each other and nobody cares? Superman landing right next to the diner with giant windows and only Hiro sees him? WTF is that crap?

One of the best openings for a show, ever. That was sweet. Even though I knew it was coming. Damn this show is getting good.

This show is kicking some serious ass.

The writers actually have a plan and are executing about as well as possible in a timely manner. Refreshing.

I agree that there have been some "loose ends" like you mention, but it's been getting far better each episode. What was a "hopeful" show to me has turned into one of my favorites. And I'm starting to find reasons to like each character. Good stuff!

I know exactly what you mean. Come on who the fuck can make they're eyes turn white when they paint? Flying? Pshawwww. Doubt it. And PUHLEASE taking a stick straight into your dome and having your whole chest cavity cut open AND surviving it all? Fucking TV takes so many creative liscenses it's ridiculous. You know what, we should only watch QVC and the 700 Club if we want TV we can believe.

(it's a show based on the freaking X-Men, suspend some disbelief)

umm, his complaints are completely valid.

This is a show about some weird sh*t starting to happen in a world that is otherwise grounded in reality. So just because you have characters with super powers doesn't mean you should throw all logic out the window.

I'm fairly certain that D.L.'s power is
Spoiler:
"phasing" like Kitty Pryde. In the preview it looked like he passed through the wall and we also know that the authorities can't hold onto him.

You can suspend your beliefs for their abilities because that's the premise of the show. However, they are supposed to otherwise behave like normal people. Some of the lines stretch the limits of believability whether or not they have super powers.

Two things bothered me in tonight's show (though I admit the episodes are getting better) - one is Mohinder being all cynical now after seeing stuff that SHOULD have made him more likely to believe Peter than completely blowing him off as a loon.

The second thing was the cop picking up the gun and holding it out for everyone to see. It makes his character a complete moron.

One more thing - Mohinder's monologue at the start of every episode. It's beginning to piss me off AND put me to sleep...at the SAME time. One monologue at the very beginning of the series is enough! Maybe one time in the middle or at major plot points (like when they all meet for the first time, or when they save the world), but that's it! It's making me roll my eyes and that's a bad way to start the show.

All that said, I will give them credit for reducing the number of gag-inducing lines or beating the audience over the head with their superpowers (like killing the cheerleader in every episode - was this the first episode she hasn't "died"?).

Um, I don't think you need to spoiler that. That's pretty much a given with him escaping handcuffs and jail so easily and getting into the house without using the doors which are guarded.

Don't know if I have to spoilerize this but I think that
Spoiler:
somehow the heroes are helping cause some of things they are meant to stop i.e. setting off a chain reaction of events that lead to the bomb. For example, the Japanese friend of Hiro actaully caused the truck in a previous episode to spin out of control when he tried to stop the truck from hitting the girl. If he didn't do anything, the truck would have just kept going. Or in tonight's episode, where the telepathic cop talked the guy out from robbing the store. Maybe he was meant to rob the store and be arrested so he can't do something in the future. I dunno, I get a "frequency" or "final destination" vibe from this show.
