i still don't like the subtitles for the japenese guys but hiro is the only one that seems somewhat excited about his power. he is entertaining though.
i think the sidekick girl - mini bilison - has some sort of other story line going on with her too. is she really there to help out or just steal the info? guess we will see.

Hiros comic is going to show manatees with balls soon.
I like thi show but the cheerleader is the biggest clutz ever. And we get it NBC, she's a cheerleader. Now how about seeing if she has other clothes.
I think split/personality chick is a villian, she just doesn't know it. Uncontrollable murderous rages.
I think the one brother can "borrow" other superpowers if he is close to someone with a power.
I think the painter/druggie doesn't see the future as much as he sees it from his girlfriends eyes, and she is unaware of her ability to project the future to others, just like the non flying brother did when he kept drawing pics of him flying as soon as he left her.
The writers need to tighten up on some of the huge plotholes. And some stuff is just wrong. It took split girl all night to bury two bodies and judging by the sun it was at least 1100am and the son slept the entire time? Ummmm, yeah right.

As for the cheerleader not recovering until the wood was removed, it makes sense based on what they showed in the first episode. I'm sure her brain stem was damaged and couldn't heal, and thus she would be dead, until the wood was removed much like when her side didn't heal until she pushed her ribs back in.

This is a great show that leads us to some obvious conclusions while keeping us in the dark about other things. I still want to know exactly what split personality girls powers are and think her super smart son is going to have alot more to do with the story. My guess is for now there are two villans. Firsy Syler and 2nd the cheerleaders father who I assume works for the government. I think he wants to study the heros maybe to help capture syler. Hiro is my favorite so far in the show.

So, I'm going to go in a slightly different direction with flyboy. I remember in the first episode how he talked about having those crazy dreams, and then waking up in the morning and his foot hovering off the ground. And the other two times we've seen him fly are when he was yelling at his brother about "only telling me what I want to hear" and before that when he jumped and his brother was below. Well I figure that it takes some kind of intense emotions for him to be able to fly, maybe a rush of adrenaline or something, and its the same for his brother. That would also explain why he couldn't fly when he jumped off the monkey bars in the playground.
Just a theory to be a little different from the "Rogue" theories out there.

The thing that pisses me off about the writing is that the storylines feel forced. As if they create a situation in order to show us something even if the situation doesn't fit. The best example of that tonight was the attempted rape. It was like the writers were like - how do we demonstrate the limitations of her regeneration powers. Oh, I KNOW! We can have a football player try to rape her and accidentally kill her. And let's have spiky object stay stuck in her (heh) and so she can't heal.
Argh this pisses me off because I love the idea, but so far, I am hating, HATING their execution. The writer(s) should be fired. Immediately. Stop telling us the story by shoving it down our throats. And I really think the Mohinder guy needs to STFU. Again, the writers need to stop beating the viewers over the head with the mysteries of life bullshit. I'm desperately hoping the writing changes. Because if not, I am going to give up hope by Thanksgiving.

What is it with this show? It's terribly written, obvious, and way too serious for its own good, yet I can't stop watching. It's like I'm doing penance for realizing that superhero comics suck.

hitchhiker's guide to flying
I love that they used the Douglas Adams guide to flying: throw yourself at the ground and miss.
and for anyone who doesn't understand how the cheerleader can resurrect after the spike was pulled from her head, I think even Wolverine has even come back from death or being mostly vaporized and other comic booky stuff-- the answer is that this is a comic book. in that world, most powers come from the understanding that you have power. so maybe as she learns that a spike in the head won't kill her, then the next spike won't even slow her down.
