Much less preachier than I expected - the marajuana/ritalin debate was handled pretty well, no real "right" or "wrong" to it.
I was impressed by the actor who played Colin, who did a great job handling the role. The last time we saw him in flashbacks were drastically different - it was also done pretty well. Wouldn't it be interesting if Ephram and Colin become friends?
I enjoyed the manga reference by Ephram. It made no sense to hear Irv talk about "beating the highest score on an old pinball machine" with Andy and Ephram playing on a Roller Coaster Tycoon - that's not old.

2 weeks for another new episode
I agree about the ritalin/weed perspective, one sides message didn't get crammed down the viewers throats.
Ephraims a good kid, but he shoulda kept his mouth shut to Amy

You said it was new tonight also, meaning "Everwood" would also be new. Since "Everwood" does air on Sunday, somebody could misunderstand and assume that if "Alias" was new on Sunday, so would "Everwood"...

There is that damn also word again.....you are right Freedexter!!!
I read my whole post and would agree that it does make it seem as if I was "also" referring to Everwood for Sunday.

The announcer also mentioned "8 episodes"....what? That would mean, even if the next episode is 2 weeks away, the season would end mid-March/April. Does that mean there will be a mid-season replacement for "Everwood"? Or did the WB feel too lazy to order more episodes? That's sort of short for a season, but then again, this is a new show.
At least it won't get cancelled - "Everwood" is signed on for the 2003-04 season, at least according to Wanda @ E!Online

Everwood 1-20-03 "The Price of Fame"
I going to start the discussion for tonight's episode of Everwood. 6 new episodes in a row. From the trailers and tv guide I have developed the following predictions.
Looks to be setting up an interesting conclusion to this season.

Halfway through the episode, I'm sort of suprised. This is fairly predictable. It's not bad, but I sort of expected the little developments in the storyline, and then they came through. Huh.
Edit: I liked the episode. It was very enjoyable, with nothing too preachy or angst-filled. The relationship between Colin and Ephram was interesting, and didn't take the expected "Gilmore Girls" style route, creating a love triangle or anything. Too bad none of the play was aired, that would have been enjoyable to see. The preview looks good too, so I'm pleased.

I liked the episode. I liked the bit about the ex-actress who comes to realize that she is allowed to be fallible among friends. And I really like the Colin/Ephram storyline. I couldn't figure out why Colin would want to be friends with Ephram until he explained it. Then it totally made sense.
I'm really liking this show a lot. The stories and emotional undercurrents really ring true. And they manage to consistently come up with poignant moral lessons without coming off as overly preachy. I figured it to be a 7th Heaven clone (which I don't really enjoy as much) when it came out, but it's really developed its own identity.

Gonna post my comments. Very good episode. Amy was a witch on the show. Colin and Ephram as buddies. The truth about Ephram and Amy will come out.

Everwood 1/27
Comments, folks? I'm a non-"Joe Millionaire" person, so I'm glad I have something to watch.
Anyhow...it was a good episode. I wasn't blown away, but it was by no means a bad episode. I think the Colin storyline is developing quite nicely, and I'm pleased with the direction that the writers/producers have taken with it.
I was amused with the post-its piano lessons thing. It did bring a sort of comic relief to an otherwise sad, down-tordden episode. And I learned that Everwood doesn't have it's own high school, they all go to a county high school. Huh. That makes sense, I suppose.
Mr. Nina made his first appearance. The conflict was well played out, but when Andy first met Carl, I was suprised to see him have that deep sense of hurt on his face. Personally, I didn't see that the relationship between the two developed that quickly, so it was odd. And the storyline was sort of left just hanging...
The new piano teacher seemed odd. The camera sort of did that thing when they are about to reveal a suprise, but it wasn't a suprise, as if we knew the guy or anything. Very out of place.

I like this show. One of the very few really well written family dramas out there since Party of Five. And not nearly so dramatic as POF, yet equally effective (if not more so).
I don't really think the Nina/Andy thing was too quick. He's been there almost a year. Nina was really missing her husband and Andy was missing his wife. It was natural that they would gravitate towards each other even though it remains unrequited.
And I think the piano teacher thing was done just because he was expecting some old fart for a teacher. I get the feeling the teacher will be bringing some drama into Everwood himself.

Emotionally charged episode last night. I really enjoyed it. Do any of you know who is the girl with Ephram in the next episode? I would like to see her picture. They showed her face for a second on the trailer.

It is Colins sister Lanie, played by Nora Zehetner.

The Colin storyline I thought was going to kill the show but suprisingly adding a new member has made the show even better.

I'm really enjoying the Colin storyline.
I was hoping he would make friends with Ephram because I anticipated he would be more comfortable with someone who didn't know him in the past.
I didn't think Andy was that hurt over seeing Nina's husband. I thought it was mostly surprise, because he had no idea he was home and he felt embarrassed for thinking he was a handyman.
I find it odd that Andy has never met him before. I mean, this "husband" can't even come home for an occasional weekend or holiday?
I think Nina must be deluded. He obviously has someone else on the side. I wouldn't be surprised if he has another wife and kids living somewhere else.
