My feelings exactly.

The Andy/Ephram relationship continues to rebound.

I'd love it if they brought Madison back for an appearance or two.

It looks like Jake is on the way out - too bad Nina isn't going anywhere.

Everwood [EDIT: previous seasons] is going to ABC family next fall.

Those of you that missed Season 2 (or later) will hopefully be able to watch it.

Patman 04-27-06 09:55 AM

Actually, it sounds like the syndicated past seasons of Everwood are going to be aired on ABC Family (just like past seasons of Smallville, Gilmore Girls, etc.), but the 5th season of Everwood would still air on the new CW if the show is brought back for another season.

Ayre 04-27-06 12:52 PM

Sorry, I meant exactly what you said. I didn't mean first runs are going to ABC family.

Jadzia 04-27-06 12:57 PM

If the CW was smart they would renew it for just that reason. Didn't Gilmore Girls become a lot more popular once the repeats went on cable?

Ayre 04-27-06 02:29 PM

I really like the old "Easy View" concept. Sure, The name sucked.

If they would have used both Saturday & Sunday from 5 - 8 to replay the primetime shows, I would have to believe more viewers would become "habitual" viewers. Although it is clear that nearly all WB shows are niche shows. Doubling a 3 mil viewership is much easier than doubling a 8 mil viewership.

Jadzia 04-27-06 03:36 PM

I think they still have the Eas View, but they have been using it for other shows. I think this year they did sitcoms, which really defeats the purpose. Who needs to catch up on sitcoms? Do you really get lost if you miss an episode of Reba?

B.A. 04-27-06 04:05 PM

I've been watching the "Easy View" of Pepper Dennis on Sunday nights.

Chauzer 04-27-06 07:01 PM

good episode.. hasnt been much of amy all season, and her stor ysucks anyway right now

What was with the scene between Jake and Reid and the hand squeezers? It seemed a little homoerotic.

Goldberg74 05-01-06 09:53 PM

Spoiler:
Methinks that Reid is going to the "casualty" that they have to deal with at the end of the season.

Looks like we forgo the Andy/Epham moment for the Amy/Ephram moment.

 Great ep.

Patman 05-01-06 10:56 PM

Didn't much care for the Irv and his daughter subplot, but finding out he was a bad father does diminish his stature somewhat.

Harold and Rose got so close to the brass ring, but then Rose lets her medical history slip, and the odds for adoption just got a whole lot smaller for them.

I wasn't all that keen on the moral highground that Amy was perched on after Ephram lets the cat out of the bag w/r/t Bright's indiscretion. It seems too fast for everything to come out in the open. Poor idealistic Hannah, this will definitely provide for some heartache of impending adulthood for her.

Reid seems to be headed down a dark path after getting expelled for cheating (dude, if you're going to cheat, don't set the curve!)

How does the fact that he's a real human being with flaws like the rest of us make him diminished? Isn't it what we learn from our mistakes and not the mistakes themselves that make us what we are?

And, of course, WB prooves once again that this series cannot let a happy relationship be portrayed for very long on TV, with Bright and Hanna going splitsville.

And didn't Harold learn anything from Dr. Brown. He said Dr. Brown also had him keep a big secret before, and Harold knows first hand how horribly all that blew up in Andy's face. Did he expect anything less? He didn't think....whatever. The man is not known for his impulsive behaviour. It was so completely out of character for him.

Patman 05-02-06 06:50 AM

All I can say is that Irv and Edna deserve one another given their track records with rearing their own children, or the lack of it.

Ayre 05-02-06 07:31 AM

Hanna and Bright are just wrong. Ephram and Amy know it.

Hanna's acting is really bad. Her quivering lip scene almost made me laugh.

The expression on Harold's face while it was being revealed that he lied, was excellent. He is quite possibly the best actor on the show.

Reid, They bring him on for 15 minutes with Amy and split him off ... He has Zero ties to the Everwood central cast, other than being a vacant roomate. My question with any character is "Would you care if this character was hit by a car and killed?". If you answer no, toss me the keys.

Irv & Edna = *Yawn*

Ephram missed what could have been the best line of the night ...

"You wanna trade muffins?"

I read somewhere, Rina Mimoun shifted the focus away from Everwood the town to make the show more about people. The loss of community has fragmented the storylines.

B.A. 05-02-06 08:54 AM

I love Nia Long, but I just didn't care for the story that she was involved in.

Maybe Reid and Jake can go drive off of a cliff in a convertible together.

More Kelly Carlson please.

Ephram was unlikeable last year. Amy is the same way this year.

I think its actually going to be Irv that dies

mdc3000 05-02-06 09:37 AM

I agree Ispep....they've been setting it up for quite a while now. Pretty good episode, but Sara Drew definitely showed the limitation to her acting chops. Harold's mistake really came back to bite him in the ass...but didn't he see it coming! I mean, come on. That said, glad to see Reid hopefully going away, loved the Ephram and Amy scene and didn't care at all for Nia Long or her character, but overall, Everwood has been pretty consistant.

I'm so disappointed with the little attention and viewership this show appears to get. It is quite possibly the best show on television with terrific acting all around.

Okay, having said that onto my thoughts on the episode.

I'm continually amazed how the writers of this show continue to take the characters and put them in situations where you absolutely hate the character at one point and then love them the next (reference Ephram last season and then Amy this season - which I believe was said earlier, but I just want to reemphasize).

Really enjoyed the two scenes between Ephram and Amy. Great acting on both parts!

"Just like old times."

I was surprised that Harod's actions didn't come back to bite him more. Andy's fallout covered seasons - Harold's all of about 2 minutes.

Edna and Irv - yeah, okay....thanks?

Jake and The Tin Man - meh....I've never disliked Jake, so I don't mind seeing him...never understood what the point of Reed was anyway...he doesn't do anything. I find it hard to believe they brought him in for naught.

Not sure who thinks Hannah has a short range of acting skills. I thought she showed them even moreso in her outburst to Bright when she told him he needed to leave right then. The whole scene was very believable. Amazed at the amount of emition each of them was showing. Such a long way Bright has travelled since season 1.

Even if the show gets seudo cancelled, I hope the CW would be kind ehough to pick it up for 6 episodes to tie everything up. They could film it and then play it as mid-season filler next winter. :(

Dude.... I'm dying to have the other seasons released on DVD !! I've only seen season 1 and got so immensely hooked. I'm trying not to peek into these threads so I don't run into any spoilers, but I look anyway just to see what the current general reaction is (appears people still enjoy it). There were some rumors of repeats on ABC family towards the end of the year.... my fingers are crossed.

Ayre 05-04-06 07:50 PM

Everwood reruns are going to be on the Family channel this fall.

One of the problems with the DVD (from Berlanti) is the licensing of the music. Since the first season didn't do well, the cost of replacing or licensing the music for such a small projected revenue may not be worth their effort. But that is speculation based on comments from Berlanti in a recent interview.

Jadzia 05-04-06 08:34 PM

I still have to wait until Saturday to see this. Damn WB Detroit/Pistons games!

Chauzer 05-05-06 03:41 PM

good episode, liked the scenes w/ efram and amy
