Originally posted by Patman Everwood is getting pretty inaccessible to new viewers now. Don't know if that's a good thing or not, it just is. I just hope they don't start trying to "go back to the basics," like they did with Smallville at the beginning of season three. For a while there (in Smallville) you had episodes airing in season three that could have just as well fit in with seasons one or two. Good for new viewers, I guess, but kind of irritating for long time viewers. As for the parallel story lines, it's worse when the adults get similar story lines too, like the episode everybody in Everwood was trying to get lucky in one night! |
Everwood - 02/23/04

Director(s): Michael Lange. Producer(s): Greg Berlanti, Mickey Liddell. Writer(s): Rina Mimoun, Greg Berlanti. |
Darn it... I've got a meeting tonight! Gotta go set the VCR...
|
Looks like we may have three relationships come to an end, and that is welcome in regards to two of them.
Tommy/Amy are killing this show, but it is not as bad as the recent Oliver/Marissa situation on The O.C. Bright continues to bring the funny. |
I wasn't sad to see the three relationships go south. I'm quite ready to stop listening to Madison and her band, and Amy's self-destructive phase has to end eventually. Now is better than later.
Rose is heartbreaking, with her concerned mother thing going on. Rose and Harold's glee of seeing 3 As on Bright's report card was cute. My station randomly chose not to air the preview for next week (or there was none), so can anybody fill me in? I know they are misleading and everything, but cliffhangers always annoy me. |
This wasn't the best ep, but it was good. Like B.A.hist said, Bright continues to be the humor in this sad sorry little town.
Decent closure for Amy. I was expecting her to call 911, but I'm glad she called her Dad. I hope Tommy's gone. Looks like the next new episode is over a month away... Episode 40: Unfinished Business To Be Aired: April 19th Madison's birthday proves to be a difficult time for Ephram and his feelings. Lastly, Harold finds out unintentionally through Amy that Dr. Brown has been prescribing her medication. |
Something was off this episode. Can't quite put my finger on it, though.
Tommy is almost like the "Oliver" character on "The O.C." just more subdued. He drains the show of any goodness with his brooding and bad influence. Some little part of me of smiling when he ODs on GHP, sad but true. Maybe Bright's living up to his name, contrary to what Will thought of him. Harold and Rose have their hands full with Amy. It's going to take a long time to repair the rift and trust, even if Amy moves back home. More Ada please. (She was the psycho girlfriend of Christian's from Nip/Tuck). Ephram's psychotic possessive turn to the dark side of blabbering idiot in love got old quick. Felt bad for Madison because she's in between the rock and the hard place. Andy and Linda's relationship hits the rocks. Andy's a fixer-upper type of personality, and Linda's having a hard time coping with that as he bulldozes through to help Nina with her divorce. Can't really blame Linda for her feelings, though, but nothing indicates to me that Andy would "cheat" physically unless he broke up with his current relationship (serial monogamy), but Linda's imagination is running a little wild, which is what is used to fuel the apprehension. |

That would have wrecked Amy for good to have 2 boyfriends die on her before she finished high school. Black Widow, anyone?
|
I was also hoping that Amy would have her second boyfriend die. :D I know that is mean, but I can't stand the Tommy character and what he has done to Amy. She is so unlikeable now.
I am also so sick of Ephram & Madison. God does she have the worst band ever or what? Her singing does not go with the sound of the rest of the band or maybe it is just her singing that sucks. I hate seeing Ephram act so pathetic around her. I'd like to see mroe of Ephram & Amy. I miss their friendship. Her slight surprise at Bright telling her that Ephram is "doing it" was a standout. |
Everwood - 04/05/04
"Unfinished Business", Episode #217.
Spoiler:
Cast: Treat Williams, Gregory Smith, Emily Van Camp, Debra Mooney, John Beasley, Vivien Cardone, Chris Pratt, Tom Amandes, Stephanie Niznik, Marcia Cross, Dylan Walsh. Director(s): Sandy Smolan. Producer(s): Greg Berlanti, Mickey Liddell. Writer(s): David Hudgins. Original Airdate: April 5, 2004 This is the first new ep in a couple of months! |
Repeated this Sunday, April 11 at 6 PM/5PM Eastern/Central for those of us who missed it.
Did I mention I'm never gonna watch another epsiode of Average Joe again! |
Was it just me or was the promo misleading? I could've sworn that this was the following exchange between Madison and Ephram -
Ephram: "I thought you didn't want me to call." Madison: "You weren't wrong." What they ended up saying on the show was - E: "I thought you didn't want me to call." M: "Well, you were wrong." |
Spoilers...
Just about everything from this season was resolved in this one episode; Amy breaks up with Tommy and moves home and seems to be back to her old self, Ephram and Madison break up, Nina's problems are solved, Bright and Amy make up, and Amy and Ephram are finally back to hanging out. Really it's pretty much back to where it started as Harold now hates Andy again as well. |
Another good ep!!! Looking forward to Season 1 on dvd later this year. :)

Originally posted by Goldberg74 Where has it been announced that Season One is coming to DVD? It took 6 long weeks, but finally we got to see a new Everwood. It was good, but not as satisfying as I had hoped. Highlight of the episode: Bright using the word "asshat". |
I can't wait for the DVDs. I never watch the show in reruns, though I love it, and can't wait to sit down and watch my personal marathons of this.
|
I am wondering (hope) if Amy and Ephram will finally try dating. I so hated her with Tommy and him with Madison. I really missed their relationship this season.
Can't believe Deadbeat Dad of the Decade would have the nerve to even sue for custody. Even when they were married he was never around. Kinda miffed her lawyer focused so much on the gay thing instead of that, but glad it worked out in the end. |
So the parallel "romantic" storylines of Amy and Ephram come to basically the same conclusion. It figures the writers would spend most of this season keeping both of them apart since Ephram was crushing on Amy big time last season, while Amy had to deal with her Colin emotions finally this season.
Harold is as self-righteous as always. Asshat indeed. It was good to see Bright be there for Amy once her former friends shunned her publicly. I knew Andy would rebound in his testimony for Nina, plus, you have to keep her around once they decide to deal with the situation between Linda and Andy, I guess. |

Producer(s): Greg Berlanti, Mickey Liddell. Writer(s): John E. Pogue. Original Airdate: April 12, 2004. |
Looks like I will have to wait until this weekend to watch this since they are airing the Blues' playoff game tonight.
|
Ahem... B.A. if you look down the main page, you'll see my thread about it that I started this morning. Rather than merge these together, I'll just delete my thread.
It was fresh on my mind since I caught the repeat of last weeks show yesterday. I'm anxious to see how Efram and Madison will 'fake' it. |
My sincerest apologies, G-berg. I must have missed your thread when I scrolled down through the thread titles. My bad.
|
No worries... I had posted it 'cause 7th Heaven is a repeat but there still would be a new Everwood tonight.
