Great episode last night.
Delia's look in that last scene made me think of Drew Barrymore in Firestarter and I was expecting the whole Christmas tree lot to go up in flames. But I've got a question... who played Rose's dad? I know I've seen him before, but I can't place him... |

Delia is bugging me as well. While I can kind of understand why she hated Linda at first, what beef does she have with her now? Can't the poor woman do anything right in the eyes of Delia? The girl needs a severe attitude adjustment.
So, what happened to Nina? |

Everwood 1/19/04
FINALLY! Everwood returns to the airwaves tonight. It feels like it's been forever since the last episode was on. People have drawn comparisons of this show to Once and Again, so I recently went out and bought that show's season one on DVD. So far however, it's been kind of a letdown. I don't find myself sympathizing nor particularly liking any of the characters. Not sure what it is exactly, but I find Everwood to be such a superior show. Hopefully, it lasts longer than Once and Again.

Everwood (1/19)
RIP: Kelly Waymire... She guested on tonights ep as the lady who wanted to have a baby with her dead husband's sperm.
Good ep. Nice to see Rose put Harold in his place, even though I don't really side with her. Best line of the night (tie): "You want me to chuck some dead guy's frozen spunk into a canyon? ... cool." - Efram "Knowing what we just did... did we commit spermicide?" - Andrew rotfl |
*Whip* Now that's what I'm talking about as Rose makes Harold her beeyotch.
I was glad to see Bright at least express his disdain for his sister's utter self-centered-ness. I felt bad for Bright when you could tell he had to just sit there in the dining room listening to his parents have a meltdown. I've had to listen to my parents fight every now and then in my youth, and it was a paralyzing feeling. I LOL at "Driving Miss Daisy Crazy". Madison is a 35 year old trapped inside a hot 21 year old's body. I had forgotten that Kelly Waymire had passed away and seeing the RIP for her at the end made me a little sad given her storyline in the episode. Glad to see Andy and Delia makes up and come to an understanding of not bottling up love when it's better to share it for those who can use it the most. |

Originally posted by Goldberg74 "You want me to chuck some dead guy's frozen spunk into a canyon? ... cool." - Efram I was glad to see Rose stick up for herself against Harold and see her lay down the law w/ Amy. The same goes for Edna eventually laying down the law w/ Amy, too. It was also good to see Bright let out some of his frustration in regards to the whole situation w/ Amy at the family meeting. The Bright character has come a long way this year. The whole sub-plot w/ the late-husband's sperm was stupid, but it thankfully provided a few laughs at the end. And, yes, Ephram is still a pimp. |
The previews for this episode were VERY misleading. Two of the scenes weren't even IN this episode!
This wasn't one of my favorite episodes, but at least the show's finally rolling again. |
Originally posted by hahn The previews for this episode were VERY misleading. Two of the scenes weren't even IN this episode! Also on 7th heaven they had scenes in a promo that weren't on the preceeding episode, but on the episode two weeks later, so there is a chance those scenes from the Everwood promo will show up next week. I thought this episode was pretty good, glad to see Amy getting disciplined and the Abbott's marital relationship difficulties were handled really well. The ending was classic! MATT nice to see kelly waymire... she will most certainly be missed. |
I don't get bothered by the promos anymore. I just watch the episode unfold before my eyes.

Everwood: Controlling Interest (1/26)
Everwood _ Controlling Interest Andy suspects that a high-school wrestler (Douglas Smith) who fainted while weighing in has an eating disorder; Ephram thinks that Madison is embarrassed to be seen with him in public. Elsewhere, Edna and Irv get fed up with Amy's abuse of their hospitality; and Linda tries to rev up her romance with Andy. I'm bummed! At least it will be a quiet night, everything else on tonight is a repeat... and its'll give me a chance to watch 'Traffic'. |
Pretty good ep.
Liked seeing Bright get some screen-time and engaging in the fisticuffs w/ Amy's boy-toy. It was pretty harsh to see Dr. Abbott look right at his daughter at school and then walk by w/out saying a word. I knew Amy would walk in on her grandma and Irv, it was just a matter of when. Can't really blame Ephram for wanting to go public about his relationship w/ Madison, but I can see her p.o.v., too. No Delia this ep. Where's Nina, the neighbor? She's still listed in the credits but I can't remember the last time she appeared in an ep, particularly since Harold's sister came to town and Madison started watching Delia. Guess there isn't enough story-line to go around. Good to see Gary Besarabia (sp?) from Boomtown as the bulimic wrestler's father. |
Very tightly written episode. I especially like Andy's outrage w/ the bulimic wrestler. Very justified and true. Also, am I the only one who would be scared to death of intimacy with a woman with HIV?
Also, it was cool seeing Ephram being assertive w/ Madison and I especially liked the father-son sitting on the couch beginning and ending. |

Ephram is losing too much cool with Madison. It's only a matter of time before Madison truly sees that the gap in maturity level is as big as the gap in age.

For those of you who might not have known, the wrestler was Gregory (Efram) Smith's real life little brother Douglas... although I don't see the resemblance.
Finally came on at 10:40 PM last night, so the missus and I stayed up to watch it. Great episode. Solid writing. By the way, I liked the little clip before the show taht honored Treat Williams for his SAG nomination. |
Yup, good episode, filled with little moments among family and extension of family (in the romantic ways). The bulimia storyline didn't really do much for me. Gregory's brother didn't look all that much like him at all (more like Bright).
Will Amy ever grow up, and if so, will it be too late? I'm just glad we didn't get to hear Edna and Irv with some "chicka-chicka-bow-wow" music in the background when Amy walks in on them. :) Bright and Harold are growing closer during this family crisis, and Bright is definitely growing up in the process (though his school transcript won't show it due to his fight being on his 'permanent record'. Linda and Andy made up a little too quickly, but perhaps Linda is more accepting of a reconciliation because she know the clock is ticking for her, so there's less time for extended melodrama in her life. |

Everwood 2/2/04
OMG, a Nina sighting!
Finally Andy figures out that he's totally neglected his friendship with Nina (due to his infatuation with Linda). Ephram and Amy's friendship re-connects after some bumpy spots in their respective relationships. They (Amy and Ephram) make a cute couple. Amy totally forgets Harold's birthday, deeply wounding Harold's heart. Ephram gets wind of Tommy being possibly dealing dope again. It looks like Sarah Lancaster (Madison) got her front teeth capped (no more toothy gap). Overall, a solid episode of little moments of repairing friendships and familial relationships. |
I think the episode was a good start to repairing the relationship that Amy has with her parents. I like it that they are going slow with Amy and her relatonship with her parents and the good thing is that with Amy AWOL Bright has gotten somewhat closer to his father. Hopefully Nina will be around more often and we get to see the friendship with Andy back on track. I get the feeling that when Linda is out of the way that Andy is going to end up with Nina after her divorce. Epthram and Madison had a bump in the road and slowly we will get to see the relationship end because it cant work with that kind of age gap when the two people are at the age they are.
|
Me thinks we will see Nina out of the way when her HIV takes a turn for the worse. She could be this year's Colin, but that's all just a guess. I have no idea where her character or the actress playing her plan on being by the end of the season.
I loved the episode, and this one really made me wish they would put out season sets of this real soon. And I also loved it when Amy bought a Leonard Cohen CD! |
