It wasn't directed at you personally, it was a reference to Tek Jansen in general. I think you got that, but I'm not sure...

no, my bad. good stuff. I've had a rough day and misunderstood. carry on

Here's some of the Tek stuff from colbertnation.com

I'd be remiss if I neglected to mention his interview with Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, the co-sponsor of a bill requiring the display of the Ten Commandments in the House and Senate chambers, to actually name all ten. After taking forever to name just three ("keep going, I'll wait..."), he admitted that he couldn't name the rest.

I just love Colbert's pompous wind-bag character taking the wind out of the sails of actual pompous wind-bags.

Good to see Colbert is not letting his gaurd down on the bears, real or stuffed.

I enjoy both the Daily Show and Colbert Report, but have to admit Colbert has easily surpassed Stewart in the past year. The Word alone is funnier than anything on the Daily Show. The way they he manages to bash the conservatives and be an ultra conservative at the same time is brilliant. It allows him to take it to both parties, but still have the look of a Fox News show.

I have tickets to see the Report tonight.

slop101 10-11-06 01:38 AM

The cooking bit with Fonda and Steinman was surreal.

Dr_Evil 10-11-06 11:10 PM

Wow, what a great show tonight. The green screen challenge with George L. and the Tek Jansen cartoon were awesome.

TheMadMonk 10-11-06 11:15 PM

Yeah, I was surprised by
Spoiler:
George Lucas'
appearance.

MasterCXtreme 10-11-06 11:25 PM

Stevie's just been pinching mudd monkeys of gold latley

misterchimpy 10-12-06 10:50 AM

Yeah, last night's episode was unbelievable. There have been so many great moments in the show, it is just the best thing on tv now, one episode has more laughs than an entire season of SNL...

Me too--so much so, that I yelled "Get the fuck outta here!" when he was introduced. (Huge SW fan here.)

This week has been amazing. Fonda and Steinem one night, "George L." the next. . . What's in store for tonight? Papa Bear himself?!

misterchimpy 10-12-06 01:32 PM

And I loved the opening line last night,

"America's culture wars are like a bar fight...and I'm your broken pool cue!"

CinemaNut 10-12-06 02:15 PM

Chalk up another Colbert fan here! He's a perfect follow-up for Daily Show. Love both these guys. Stewart gives it low brow and hands politicians their asses to them which I love, and Colbert - wow..he makes ya think which angle he's playing. I love it!

Bronkster 10-12-06 07:21 PM

Colbert does the impossible - he makes Jar Jar funny!!

slop101 10-12-06 08:25 PM

Lucas hitting Colbert in the crotch with a light-saber had to be the funniest thing I've seen this week.

Comedy Central needs to do a Tek Jansen spin-off show.

slop101 10-17-06 12:49 PM

Here's a cool little article by the winner of Colbert's green-screen challange about it all.

^Good article.

And as for tonight, I could have watched him yammer on all night with that biologist.
Horray 1 year!

Anyone from here bidding on the portrait? I was thinking of bidding just to say I did (with every intention of losing!) but I haven't seen it move from $6,200 yet. If I could afford it, I'd do it.
