What's funny is that I quit the show after watching that scene. Deleted the rest of that episode, and didn't even bother with this weeks.
Oh well.

Ok, This show just shifted up a notch. I laughed out loud quite a few times. The writing is much better than the first couple episodes and I have begun to like all the characters. It isn't nearly as bad as the first few episodes.
Hey, Where did everyone go? (((((echo )))))

This show is too painful to watch, i;m out
It's a shame because i'm a huge fan of Sean Macguire ever since he was on Grange Hill as a kid and also the actress from Joey but the other actors annoy me too much

I figured this was going to happen due to the poor ratings of The Class:

Did they really expect The Class to outperform HIMYM. Neither are doing very well in this prime spot on weak day.

This show has really started to grow on me.
I thought the pilot was mediocre at best, but I was still willing to keep recording it, to see if it improves. The second episode got better, and the third, I thought, was quite entertaining.
Here are some hits and misses in my opinion:
Hits:
Chemistry between Ethan Hass/Kat Warbler (i.e. dumped guy and witty girl)
Separate storylines to build individual characters likeability with audience
Good comedic timing with certain actors (Bernthal, Anders)
Plotlines (i.e. simple yet complicated enough for a modern audience)
Misses:
Overacting of Lucy Punch (Holly Ellenbogen)
Too much enphasis on Holly Ellenbogen storyline with Kyle Lendo
"Previously On" segments (no sitcom can survive with these in the long term; though I think it is probably just in these beginning episodes to explain the setup)
I have rewatched these first three shows several times (mainly in the background while I working), and all episodes seemed to become more likeable after repeated viewings, with the obvious exception being the second, with the emphasis on the Ellenbogen character and unnecessarily awkward situation between Kat and Richie at the end (setup for final joke excepted).
Overall, I am looking forward to future episodes, and would like to see it survive a full season, at least.

Yes. However, due to the lack of interest, I stopped posting about it.
I enjoyed this episode except for the ending. It turns the audience against Richie, which I don't think is a good thing is early in the season.
The Yonk/Duncan scenes were humorous, though the contemplative walk-away by Duncan was a bit much. The inevitible hook up of Ethan and Kat seems to be building up for a mid season arc. They seem to have god chemistry, so I have no problem with that lead up.
I am NOT a fan of the Holly/Kyle storyline. I would have no problem if that whole arc (including the actress playing Holly) were to be written out completely, unless it improves greatly in then ext few episodes.

I've dug all of the character storylines up to this point EXCEPT that of Holly and Kyle. While I do give the storyline the benefit of the doubt (Sean Maguire was on one of the greatest underrated sitcoms of all time -- Off Centre), Kyle is an interesting character, but pairing him up with the show's most idiotic character is just plain stupid. I don't know what the hell the writers have planned for Holly, but I can't see them lasting a whole season with a bimbo who keeps on falling in love with gay men. Either she's just naive or really fucking stupid.
The crappy thing is about the whole Holly/Kyle storyline is the show could easily be grounded in reality -- if it wasn't for Holly's idiotic stereotypical husband (and the situations between Lina and Richie, but we'll save that debate for the next few episodes depending how that storyline goes now after last night's revelation).

yes, the Kyle/Holly parts are by FAR the worst part of the show. and it's not because of the Kyle character (or his boyfriend). Holly and her husband are simply not funny.
still not that interested in the Lina/Richie stories, but it could get interesting. i just think that they both speak with annoying mannerisms. and that gets to me.
ethan and kat are still the best part of the show. the duncan and nicole part this week was pretty good. i have to admit. i borderline like this show (aside from holly, of course)

Don't misunderstand my criticism of the writing setting up for possible dislike of the Richie character. In general I like the Richie/Lina sotryline, and honestly, think that Richie is possibly the funniest character on the show. I like his style of delivery and overall comedic timing.
I would have no problem with the Kyle Lendo character if Holly wasn't in the picture (this could be alleviated if Holly toned down her character quite a bit).
Didn't think of the possiblilty that Sara Golbert (i.e. Fern) was his sister, friend. et al. Possible audience teasing/cliffhanger. Cheesy but real way to bring repeat viewers.
I have kept this on season pass, and am looking forward to the next one.

I finally cancelled my season pass for this show. This last episode could barely keep my attention and in this super-crowded fall season, cutting even a 30 minute show is worth the time savings to me. I was just not enjoying this one, despite initially being very interested in the premise. (I would actually love a 3rd grade reunion, because back then everyone was friends unlike high school.)
