Hell, his "Football Player Mom"(which player?) and "Al Sharpton" are hilarious!

Keenan's mannerisms are hilarious.
I think he's good as a bit player (showing up once a show). I think you all are watching old SNL episodes through rose-colored glasses. The Carvey era was one of the worst ever. I don't think SNL is at its peak, but it is not at its bottom.

If that's your criteria, any number of mentally challenged people could take his place.

If the cast is shrinking significantly, I would say keep:
Fred Armisen
Will Forte
Bill Hader
Darrell Hammond
Seth Meyers
Chris Parnell
Andy Samberg
Jason Sudeikis
Kenan Thompson
Fire everyone else and add some young women who won't bring us terrible reoccuring characters that bring the show down to MadTV-esque levels.
Hell, at this point I'd say Lorne should bring on Jorma and Akiva as cast members.

Well i hope it shrinks so much that there is no one left. This show has not been funny for many years now. The whole cast cannot are simply not funny. They think a great sketch is them all laughing their asses off at some pitiful skit. The writing is terrible and the loss of Fey is of no concern. When the women in the cast began to take over it immediately went downhill. The early to mid 90s was the glory period...and they won't be back i am sure. Good riddance to this piece of shit IMO.

They NEED to get rid of Forte for no reason other than we won't have to see his god damned Bush impersonation any more. I think I hate his Bush more than the real one - the real one at least makes me laugh...

I like Keenan all right in the sketches where he pops out about 2 or 3 lines as a random background character who then just as quickly disappears (such as a soldier in formation, or some such). As a main character...meh.
Poehler is funny in about 1 in 10 bits she appears in (which as someone stated is all of them). That's not good. In fact, it's horrible. At least Sanz gets maybe 2 of 10 right.
I am still waiting for Maya Rudolph to be funny even once. Same for Mitchell.
Forte and Armisen only make the cut by standing next to those mentioned above.
Hammond and Parnell are the only veterans worth anything. Hammond could hold his own on any season's cast. Parnell doesn't do everything, but what he does he does very well.
I reserve judgement on the rest until after the next season.
