Actually I thought he was better with Supernova than he had been in a while, but really, that doesn't mean much.

In competitions like this where the band makes the final decision (a la Trump), the performances don't matter much, except to promote the "losers" as a springboard to their future success.

not surprised by who won, of course. maybe jason can work with lukas to really get him to open up more, because he definitely mumbles a lot of words.

out of all of them, ryan is the only one who's stuff i'd buy (and already did). i listened to Toby's Juke Cartel stuff, and it's ok, but nothing i'd buy. no way on dilana. i might buy the "supernova" cd if it's on sale for 3 bucks, just because i watched every episode this summer, but these guys don't have near the likability that INXS had through the whole run of the show last year (even down to the final episode... i can still imitate the "J.D... you ARE right for our band!" line.

Dilana got robbed twice. Not only didn't she get the lead singer job, now she has to work with Gilby Clark. I think Toby is better off, like Navarro said he already has a hit single.

Do you know if they will only be singing new music.

Well, what show *cough*. I'm not shocked Lucas won and I'm pretty sure there was a fix too. Whatever though. I wouldn't wish that job on my worst enemy. That band sucks. It did seem to me that Lukas was singing differently on the Supernova songs. Almost like he had been practicing them with the band for six months...Apparently they've lost the lawsuit for the name and have been told to change it, which will effectively kill a majority of the album sales they would make, and at least I can be happy about that.
I liked how pissed Dilana was. She's going to be throwing glasses for years after this. Gilby offering to write her album would garner the Along Came Polly response from me : "Aww no thanks, man". Does Gilby Clkarke actually write music? Who knew?

I have another thought now about Loukas' reaction - "oh shit". It's entirely possible that he never really wanted the gig, or doesn't really want it anymore, but just to use the show as a springboard to popularity.

To me the way they handled Dilana said "We think you're talented and want to work with you, but don't want to get TOO tangled up in your web of craziness. After the studio work is done you'll be the house band's problem."

Who knew that Clint Howard would be the new lead singer for Supernova?

I thought that the way Jason got rid of Toby was pretty strange. He was praising him up, then all of a sudden, boom! I was thinking that they would play it out a bit more, praising the other two, then having some drama while waiting for the announcement.

A lot of people here locally are upset, since the station that carries the show apparently aired a recap episode for the first 30 minutes, then joined the finale in progress, just after Magni had gotten the boot. I'd be pissed too. I am on satellite now so it didn't affect me, but prior to this, the same station would drop feeds all the time, and we would miss entire segments of shows, including Amazing Race, Canadian Idol and The Bachelor, just to name a couple. It would cut to a commercial, and stay there for 10-15 minutes, or until the next commercial break came.

Brutal.

As the person who first suggested this on the first page of this thread, this made me laugh heartily.

When I saw Lukas' sunglasses last night, I thought he was trying to be Billy Sparks, the club manager from Purple Rain.



I read at another forum that Lukas' non-reaction shot was due to the fact that when Tommy was telling Dilana she was eliminated, she thought she had won and they had to edit out that part so by the time they re-taped what we saw everybody already knew the outcome. Oops.

OMG, I would love to see that. Surely that would have been much more entertaining than anything on the actual broadcast.

Oddly, CBS has taken a shining to Ryan, and Honda wants to license his song for promotions. I guess they never bothered to listen to the lyrics, but they want to sell cars to fornicate in as the world ends.

Well Suzie Mcneil is singing a duet with Clay Aiken on his new CD (A Thousand Different Ways). Not sure what else she has planned for the remainder of 2006.

Jordis was suppossed to release an album sometime in 2006, haven't heard much lately. She signed with Sony Music last year.
