I think that the encore goes to Ryan, who really did a good job last night. I really don't like the guy, but I have to give credit where credit is due.
Everyone else was pretty much in the same category for me. Bottom three should be Patrice, Toby, and probably Storm. I was a big fan at first, now I am sick of her theatrics for the camera. Plus Supernova doesn't take her seriously (Tommy Lee at least). The other female singers don't get any sexually suggestive comments thrown at them, and to me, the fact that she gets them shows that they don't take Storm seriously as a singer. On one hand, you have Gilby telling Jill to stop the grinding since it is a cheap thing to use sexuality to sell her music, then you have Tommy telling Storm a couple of times to wear less clothing. |

LOW, I agree with you. In my mind, she's definitely falling down. Her vocal range is quite limited and her "showmanship" is just burlesque. I think she's in danger of leaving soon. BTW all, did you notice that Brooke said there's only three more performance weeks left? That means there's another double elimination coming up. Could get interesting tonight. |

Ryan was really the best last night, I dug the toon he wrote. I could see that as a single I would want to own.

Thought all three women were disappointing last night. Patrice's song was alright at first, but after awhile it just got so damn repetitive. That's the problem you get when you try to make the verse too 'hooky'... it just sounded like she took the bridge from some song and looped it throughout the verse to make it catchy. Stylewise it seemed like something from Liz Phair's two last albums.
Storm I just can't stand anymore. I'm not a fan of deep voiced female singers, and she really has no highs in her voice. Cryin' just sounded bad in her style. It's designed for a 'screamer' while she's a 'yeller'... two opposite pitches. Dilana is being babied by Supernova at this point. What a safe rendition for that song. I kept expecting it to rock out at some point, but she did a pretty standard version. The synthesizers should've gone, IMO. I think if anyone else had done that they would've got slammed for it. I actually don't like the song Layla, so I thought Toby's version was an improvement. Still, it was kind of a lackluster performance. Ryan killed it, but while he has the heavy chops Supernova is looking for, his style seems a lot more brooding than their's. Magni was good, but Nirvana again? Come on. Lukas... there were parts of that I loved and parts that made me cringe just a little. |

And Dilana's fake eyelashes were so disturbing. They looked like something she stole from the set of "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" or something. Not a good look for her.

It made Dilana look like an Oompa-Loompa.

Still, I did notice the same thing I've mentioned in prior posts - as long as he's standing still, his voice is good; but as soon as he starts to move around the stage or get pyshical, it begins to crap out on him. |
Bye Patrice! :)
The overpraised Dilana was really quite boring with that song. But I'd think Dilana and Lukas have such big core fan support that they'll never hit the Bottom 3. |

I thought Ryan was the best, even though he looks like the bastard love child of Rufus Sewell and a random Iraqi terrorist mugshot. |
I think Ryan looks like Jeff Goldblum. I keep expecting to see him save the earth from aliens with his Macbook.

Damn, skippy.
They really gave Dilana hell tonight. I'd read a few weeks on Kristin's EOnline gossip site that she was hard to get along with behind the scenes, and they sure put that out tonight. Wonder if the show was trying to poison her. (Of course Gilby and Jason already know what it's like to deal with asshole singers, so they might not want to get involved with another one even if it's just for a limited project like this.) I also have to kind of respect Dave for bringing up the point that they're winning a contest on a reality show. Sort of raised my eyebrows. One other thing... as we were watching tonight, my girlfriend pointed out that the final three women were all in their mid-to-late thirties. Patrice is about thirty-six. Storm is thirty-seven. And Dilana, according to Wikipedia, is thirty-four. (Seems a little fishy me as I'd peg her to be the oldest one. Looks like she's on the other side of forty to be quite honest.) |
What was that thing on Patrice's lip? Was she trying to make a clever Spinal Tap reference?
|
It seemed to me that a producer or something told Dilana to add some drama to the household to make the the house part of the show more interesting. Maybe that is what she is really like, but it seemed in the past they showed her as more supportive to the others, hard to believe she flipped the other way so quickly (or maybe they did not show the ugly stuff before to build her up).

Maybe she decided the bands music sucked so hard that she needs to get voted out.

I keep saying whoever wins this one will not be a winner. This gig can't last more than about six months, tops. |
Wow they really put the knife in Dilana back tonight, but do you guys really think people will stop voting for her ? She gets the most cheers everytime someone says her name. It will most likely come down to Dilana and Lucas in the end. All though I really do like Magni, but if he keeps ending up in the bottom 3 he is sol.

Wow. Patrice's Middle of the Road was very middle of the road. Sounded flat. Like Kate Moss.
Ugh. |
What was the song that Toby sang for elimination tonight? Thanks

She's really egotistical. I can't believe people didn't see that until now. What else would you expect from someone who sings her own name over and over in one of the verses for "Every breath you take"? Not to mention how conniving she is as well. She tried to sabatoge Lukas a few shows back. |
