It was bad enough when last week 2 really crappy annoying comics got through. But, damn this week there was at least 4 that went on through and you could probably argue 5 and maybe even all 6. And the guy who got Fan Favorite, what the hell was that about, not even close to the funniest of the night. Guess i won't be watching anymore.

silentbob007 06-13-06 10:55 PM

It's always fun to see how much of a joke this show is ... I mean ... the pregnant lady had just about the most unfunny set ever. SURPRISE ... she's in it for the "baby" tension ... right?

mdc3000 06-13-06 11:23 PM

I hated Iglasius, Stella and the last choice girl...they were awful and had the least funny material there....this thing has to be rigged. I was enjoying it up until the selections tonight...only 2 of them were any good IMO.

I love me some Gabriel... so pipe down and pass the Krispy Kremes!

I didn't care for Stella, the short chick or the dude with the Katrina jokes. I was hoping for Mike Bocchetti or the guy with the braids.

But it looks like we can get an eliminated comic back on the show.

http://www.nbc.com/Last_Comic_Standing/voting/

Choose from: Mike "27 Year Old 5th Grader" Boccheti, Gerry "The Teacher" Dee, David Huntsberger, Nikki "Lisp Chick" Payne, and Saleem.

Patman 06-14-06 12:16 AM

It's heavily edited because I don't think any contestant had their entire 3 minutes shown, and you have to assume each had a short Q&A with the judges, but probably only the funny Q&A's were shown (time allowing).

I am in shock at who made it out of this group of 20. I only agreed with 2 of the 7 contestants that went on (Kristin and Gabriel). I'm bummed that Flip didn't make it, or the final guy (seque guy). Nikki Payne would probably too much to take in longer doses, but she had that mad, infectious energy that was bringing on the funny. Malik S's stuff was pretty funny too (I was dying at the drive-by bit being affected by gas prices). The Hank Hill look-alike wasn't as funny as his audition, plus he needed to keep his glasses on because he just looked strange without them.

Spoiler:
I know comedy is subjective ... what is funny for you may not be funny for me but damn if they picked all the unnfunny comedians. The women comedians (except for Roz IMO) were just not funny or original. (I'm a straight Ellen, I'm old, I'm pregnant and horny, I'm short and I make fart jokes). Iglesias winning based on a cop and donut joke was horrible. Terrible. Show.

Malik S. should have advanced over some of the detritus that they picked. I watched all three seasons of this but I'm not going to watch this anymore.

 You could tell the funny ones were looking at each other knowing this show is crap.

Gabriel Iglesias or Chris Porter should win, the rest can't even handle a question from Kathy Griffin. I don't think Gabriel should have got through with that lame cop/donut routine, but I'm sure the producers know he can be funny from his 2003 Comedy Central special.

rocketsauce 06-14-06 03:10 AM

they picked that kristin key girl at the end??? Fucking Paula Poundstone 2006??? Seriously she is one kiddie porn charge and a pair of 80's shoulder pads away from her. She already has the diction and "smart" pant suit part down.

Perkinsun Dzees 06-14-06 06:36 AM

I think it's funny how they use the same audience shots over and over. They edited in the exact same footage of a couple in the audience laughing at joke by Moody McCarthy and then by Stella. Also, there was a shot of two girls in the audience looking at each other uneasily after Josh McDermitt's joke about shooting a woman that I'm pretty sure was the exact same footage they used last week when Nikki Glaser told her joke about date rape.

Buford T Pusser 06-14-06 08:42 AM

Still haven't seen this week's show but from what I'm reading I'd say the consensus is:

THIS SHOW SUCKS! and everyone wants some hours back into their life.

I know it is on Bravo tonight after "Celebrity" Poker.

This show does indeed suck. What I really don't get is why they only took 5 from last week's show and 7 from this. That's some major BS for the first group. Not that it appears it matters as it almost seems a blessing to not be picked.

Maybe they are trying to kill it. But I'd love for another network to do the same show opposite this one and make it, I don't know, real?

Jeraden 06-14-06 08:56 AM

I was angry after watching this last night. I had a glimmer of hope when they announced there was a twist. I thought they might actually say the 5 picked were the ones NOT chosen and the rest were - as pretty much everyone funny did not get picked, and the unfunny ones did. They must really have a bias against middle-age or younger normal looking guys - they are funny and don't get picked.
The one that pissed me off the most was the lady with the stairmaster routine. How on earth was that funny enough to advance... or even funny at all.

Timber 06-14-06 09:07 AM

Malik was the only one that had me consitantly laughing last night, so of course he didn't make it.

I thought they were letting 2 in based on internet voting?

DVD Josh 06-14-06 09:27 AM

I just don't get this show. Lots of great potential squandered. It's clear that they were casting a realty tv show and not a comedy show. No wonder this show's ratings bomb year and after.

And Bill Dwyer? Seriously, there's no sense in choosing that guy. Bill, if it hasn't happend for you yet buddy, it's never going to.

DRG 06-14-06 11:03 AM

Really terrible. Malik had the best set of the night IMO but didn't make it. Stella? Seriously, during her bit I thought to myself "She's terrible... I bet she's in for sure", and lo and behold she is. Gabriel just annoys the hell out of me. The short girl is another one of those "act really goofy" routines... not a lot of real jokes, just her up there doing physical buffoonery comedy. Not my thing, really. Dwyer's delivery is too dull... most of his jokes actually are funnier on paper.

NORML54601 06-14-06 03:11 PM

Another voice who thinks they're all horrible picks with the exception of Ty. I'll watch the show until Josh Blue is eliminated, but after that I can't imagine myself caring anymore about this.

I feel the same way. Actually, the least likeable person on the whole show is Anthony Clarke, which is impressive, considering Kathy Griffith is in the same place as you are.

saoirse 06-14-06 07:58 PM

That's it for me. What a load of shite. None of the best made it. I really hope this flops fast and they learn from their many many mistakes.

I'd be interested to see how much the ratings tumble next week.

Tommy Ceez 06-15-06 08:34 PM

These comics REALLLY sucked, Im out.

And has Anthony Clark told a joke yet?

Duran 06-15-06 09:27 PM

I thought the drive-by guy was the funniest in the last show. I'll probably watch until Josh Blue gets the boot - I found him genuinely funny.

Goldberg74 06-15-06 10:00 PM

If Chris Porter, Gabriel "Look it's Shrek!" Igleseas and Josh Blue are in the house, I'll watch.

When they're gone, I'm gone.

Ayre 06-16-06 08:43 AM

"I just don't get this show. Lots of great potential squandered. It's clear that they were casting a realty tv show and not a comedy show. No wonder this show's ratings bomb year and after."

There is a disclaimer at the end of the episode that states (paraphrased) that the judges consult with producers to determine the winners. This whole show is rigged for production value. Remember the big deal with Drew Carey and Brett Butler on a previous season.

I finally watched watched this most recent show and most picks weren't that bad ... considering the pool. But Stella ... was dreadful. Yes, I would have chose differently, but I wouldn't take in consideration housing relationship.

I still cannot believe all the support for Josh Blue. Comedians who sole act is to make fun of their differences is weak. Fat comedians that do nothing but fat jokes. I may come off as being cruel about him, but the truth is his act is his handicap. If it wasn't his complete act it would be distracting.

The sad thing is that this season hasn't any edgy comedianes. They are going to need someone to stir up the house and I don't see anyone doing it.

Gil Jawetz 06-16-06 09:15 AM

Even though I read the spoiler of who made the house I was expecting it to be wrong during Doug Benson's set. It was masterful. It was full of great jokes and it was strung together in a way that was way more intricate than you'd expect from a 3 minute set. I was super impressed (plus I'm a big best week ever fan) so to see the hacks get picked over him was insane. Makes no sense at all.

I wonder if he pissed off Anthony Clark in 2002 when he did an episode of Yes, Dear. Or maybe it's because his entire set was already on Comedy Central.. ("Doug works on his segues" below)
