Actually, I only went back about 3 pages! Took about 2 minutes. That's how often it is said. No need to get angry about it, like I said, was just an observation. You do get sad a lot.
Not angry, I don't actually sit and cry while I'm typing or anything. Wholly shit though I do say it ALOT!
It's just to bad that alot of shows that are really good don't do well in the ratings.

A bit late for this observation, but I find it strange that CBS didn't try to get a Jesse Stone TV series made since the four movies got good ratings. I'm sure Tom Selleck will do fine on Las Vegas, but I would have preferred seeing him in his own show.

You know I thought the exact same thing. I think the Jesse Stone character would make a very interesting TV series. I also heard that one of the conditions of Selleck's employment with Las Vegas is that he be allowed to make a 5th Jesse Stone movie.

CBS probably doesn't want to make it into a series because Jesse Stone isn't a CBS/Paramount TV production (It's produced by Sony and probably costs more) Also, the movies are shot on location in Canada instead of LA and since Selleck lives in LA he probably wouldn't want to commit to 10 months of living in Canada.

Thats probally the main reason that CBS didn't want to produce a full TV series on the show because if CBS/Paramount doesn't own full rights to the show they arn't going to make as much money off it as they would want and the fact that if it failed as a TV series it would just be a pain in the ass in the end for CBS.
Kind of like the Scrubs situation with NBC, I'm happy as hell NBC renewed it because its still the best show on TV but the reason they only ordered 18 episodes is because NBC gave The Office a total ep. order of 30 and they make more money off The Office because its owned by NBC universal unlike Scrubs which is owned by Disney/Buena Vista/Touchtone & the fact the Scrubs only gets around 5 million as apposed to 7-9 million for The Office, NBC makes three times as much for with The Office.

DVRs behind viewer drop: Nielsen

By Paul J. Gough
Fri Jun 1, 4:26 AM ET

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Digital video recorders are a leading reason for the slide in television viewing this year, Nielsen Media Research said Thursday

Many of the top shows -- from ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" to Fox's "American Idol" to CBS' "CSI" -- saw their ratings drop in the spring.

Prompted this month by questions from NBC, Nielsen began an investigation into the factors that could have led to the slide. Nielsen's probe is almost complete, but in the meantime the company has discovered several things.

"DVRs appear to be the largest factor in that," said Pat McDonough, Nielsen senior vp planning policy and analysis.

But there are other factors in Nielsen's early findings, among them the difference between an Olympic year (2006) and a non-Olympic year (2007) as well as a higher number of repeat programs this spring than in previous years.

It took them this long to figure that out?

People are just setting their own TV schedule nowadays. Since I got Directv with Tivo 3 years ago, I have not watched 1 episode of Primetime TV live.

There's also a report out that only slightly more than half of people FF through commercials with a DVR.

Now, that is funny!

For a show that's essentially getting burned off, Traveler's numbers are pretty decent IMO. Now as for Hidden Palms, not a chance in hell the CW renews a show with barely over 1 million viewers.

Was this week the first time HIMYM was on at 9:30? Or did it start there last week? Rating were up a lot for it from last week to this week. Although, now that I look at it again, it may have taken KoQ's timeslot this week? Almost exactly the same ratings (8.75 to 8.76).

Anyhow...they are advertising it as the "new time" for HIMYM - is this going to carry into the fall as well? I think it'd be good for it's ratings, after the more popular (but moronic, IMO) 2 1/2 Men, and before CSI.

How could repeats of Two & a half men, CSI: Miami & How I met your mother beat Hell's Kitchen? Still decent #'s for the show though which is nice to see.
Say goodbye to On the Lot.
Nice #'s for American Inventor & Adding George Forman as a judge was great!
Horrible #'s for Hidden Palms, of course by CW standards its not as bad as it looks.
The NHL playoffs didn't gather many viewers either but alot of that has to do with the fact that most Americans that like Hockey like in the northern states and most of those states can get CBC I think so they probally watched it on there & the fact that Hockey in the states is becoming less & less popular.

Regarding hockey, I'd say as the teams in the playoffs dwindle, so do the viewers. I stopped watching once San Jose was out. I'm sure it's the same with most who are fans of one or two teams. I know NHL is growing out here. I'm sure in other places it's going down. Perhaps down the road people will realize how exciting a sport it is, unlike a few of those more popular ones.

I agree,
The Sport is exciting but doesn't get the #'s in the ratings that Golf gets which is beyond me because at least they hit in hockey (Althrough the rules are getting worse) & It takes alot of psychical than Golf thats for sure.
The thing is NHL isn't the only hockey out there. Unlike football though, The AHL is no way near as popular as college football is.
