This will be good fodder for Howard Stern.

I think this hire might be designed to force Star to quit. I don't think they have been to happy with her since the wedding brouhaha.
I wish they'd dump Ditzy Bitsy. That girl is insufferable and has a permanent stick up her ass.

With Vieira leaving, I can't imaging that Barbara Walters would still want to participate. I professionsal with credentials and four nobodies (well Star thinks she's somebody, but she's not).
Rosie O'Donnell is the female version of Sam Kinison only not funny.

I never saw her HBO special but I used to see her on VH1 ( I think), she was so unfunny, the only thing I remember about it was that she waved flashlights around at the beginning...I can't tell you what any of her material was like cause it obviously didn't make an impression. The funny comedians will leave me remembering their material forever!

Rosie won't stick with this. And if she does at least one other Hen will be leaving.
Oh well, I watch "Girlfriends" on UPN at that time so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I agree with the people that say she was funny when she first was getting started. Some of the standup is good, and I do think she is good in A League of Their Own. But once she came out of the closet and started getting more political she became unfunny. She now just seems to come across as somebody that is just angry and not happy.
Same goes for Janine Garofolo.

I watch it 2 or 3 times a week and the show definately suffers when Merideth isn't on. They needed someone to be the moderator and run the show. Rosie isn't that person. I'm afraid I won't be able to stomach the show.
I guess it depends on if we get fake Rosie from her TV show days or if we get the cleary gay angry Rosie of today.

They should've put Alexis Arquette on it.
That would be awesome enough to make me watch it at least once.

I am through watching that show now. Not that I watched much to begin with, just for fifteen minutes or so while on break at work, but now I have no reason to watch it at all. Hopefully they will find somebody else soon, or the View will soon be cancelled.

There was this e-mail circulating on my job with photos of Star (pre-surgery) and her husband on vacation....there is no way that man is not gay. Star is so going to get a "Terry McMillan" done to her. Can't stand Star Jones (especially after how she treated Kathy Griffin).Ok, back on topic. I love Viera and cannot stand Rosie..yuck. Not that I watched the show that much anyways, but I'll never be turning in now.

Did anyone see the Daytime Emmy Awards? Disgusting. Barbara Walters was on stage giving Carol Spiney the lifetime achievement award. He has performed Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street for 30 years. And do you think they would let him make a speech? No! And why? Because Barbara needed the time to roll out that big, fat Rosie to announce she would be joining The View. God I hate backstage TV politics, I really do.

I've been travelling for the last week, so I have fallen behind on pretty much all news, but I did manage to catch this.
I usually watch The View for about 2 minutes at lunch time. I like Viera a lot. She does a great job as a host, and there is no way in hell that O'Donnell will be able to adequately replace her. Jones contract is up in September, so I doubt that she will be back. Word had it that they were looking at bringing in Patricia Heaton to replace Veira, and probably would have let Hasselbeck go, as they are so similar politically. I think that I read in one column that they are looking for a latino to replace Jones, assuming she leaves.
What has Rosie said about Jones? I didn't realize they were at odds.

I think it was an all star hire.
I don't think most folks at this site are the views target audience.
Say what you want about Rosie, she will deliver some ratings and good tv.
I'll tivo a few eps, something i have not done to that show since it first aired.
