Lost -- "Dave" -- 04.05.2006

so dave is real, and he was swimming to an underwater hatch?
yeah, that's pretty ridiculous. the dude jumped off backwards, landed in the water flat against his back. he'd be dead.

(actually, that would be a brilliant idea to show different versions of the show in random areas of the country JUST to really trip people up)

Instead of the St. Elsewhere ending, perhaps, the series finale will see Mr. Roarke and Tattoo coming out and asking Locke if he enjoyed his fantasy of walking again?
Or maybe, Jack will walk out of the shower into his bedroom with Kate, where Kate says "It was all a dream?"
Or maybe, Hurley is the sole survivor of the plane crash and realizes he DOES see dead people.
Maybe Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson come out of hiding to confirm they discovered the truth about being "Unbreakable" - the people who surivive horrific crashes have something in common - they're superheroes.

we know from season one hurly was in an institute. from this last episode we can assume he had an imaginary friend named dave. so i would fine it ok to state that hurly isn't totally crazy, but under stress or some state of bad emotions his mind can faulter. perhaps "dave" was reawakened due to stree or guilt about hording food. if hurlys mind can do that, then couldn't it also be assumed that what we saw in hurlys last flash back was also in his mind? he finds a girl who he is attracted to, she takes interest in him and tries to help him. he finds this hard to believe due to his looks/guilt/etc so he again creats another false outlet, libby is mentally disturbed.
would seem a bit strange that hurly, if attracted to her now, would of never-ever noticed her then? he was there long enough to get number stuck in his head. also seems as he is personable guy he would get to know/make friends with everyone.
also libby helped clarie out with the memory regression.
or libby could be crazy and was with hurly and maybe assumed the identity of the other tailie chick who was killed/ganked prior to meeting with the main crew. or she got her name and story from some other tailie who was catpured or killed soon after the crash.
while there is always the chance she could be an other, wouldn't her name have to be on the manifest? while never shown, i would assume when the tailies and main crew met up someone would of checked that aspect out. (maybe libby was able to get a real fake id, but then why not ethan or henry?)
basic point, this episode showed hurly isn't all the mentally stable, so why immedtiately assume without further proof that his memory or what have you is 100% truth. maybe it wasn't exactly a flashback? or the flashbacks are based on the characters perception/view point and not 100% factual truth.

Well, Elizabeth is Libby's real name so that would seem to suggest that at least she didn't need to get a fake ID.
But definitely need to see a LIbby flashback show now

This past week I watched all four Phantasm films. Hadn't watched them in quite awhile and was reminded of Lost . Generous with questions, stingy with answers, and totally leaves you guessing at what's going on. Yea, that's it! They're stranded on Phantasm Island! Probably a pair of transporter poles in a back room of the hatch. Everybody who's died so far is running around as squished down midgets. The Tall Man is in charge of the others. A silver sphere comes flying out of the forest and nails Anna Lucia in the head and sucks her brains out. Yea! That's the ticket!

I loved the series finale for St Elsewhere. IMO it was brilliant.

I was kind of getting a St Elsewhere vibe too.

Whether or not Hugo is dreaming this whole thing or not, he's definitely a bigger part of it than just the comic relief. I was reminded this week also of when, in the first season, Hugo gave the thumbs up to Walt as he came onto the plane late. There's no way he could've met Walt before boarding the flight as we pretty much saw his entire hurried trip to and through the airport. Plus, they have a connection with the comic book, I believe.

Beard and Costume: (Maternity Leave Episode )
Kate found Mr. Friendly's beard, a jar of Dharma-brand theatrical makeup adhesive and a closet full of dirty Others clothes in the Claire-centric ep where they visited the medical hatch. A beardless Mr. Friendly was also seen in this ep, telling Ethan Rom that "he" wasn't going to be pleased, implying there was someone higher up in charge. This was also confirmed recently by Henry Gale in the Dave ep.
Computer: (What Kate Did Episode, I think)
While on numbers duty, Michael had a brief, somewhat cryptic text-based communication on the computer, theoretically from Walt. This is sort of what drove him to strike out on his own. Don't remember which ep specifically.
