"The Amazing Race'' makes a change

Fans of "The Amazing Race'' haven't been too happy with the show or CBS this season. First, the fall cycle of the reality show involved a "family'' version of the race that didn't click with viewers.
Then, for the current cycle, the series was moved to 10 p.m. Tuesdays where viewership slumped because a lot of the audience liked to watch "Race'' with their kids who were in bed by 10. (The fact it was up against "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'' didn't help.)
So, to boost ratings, CBS announced on Thursday that starting next week, "Race'' will air at 8 p.m. Wednesday in front of "Criminal Minds'' and "CSI: NY.'' The competition won't be as tough either although Fox's "Bones'' and NBC's "Deal or No Deal'' have been doing pretty well in that time period.
The 10 p.m. Tuesday slot will be filled by repeats of CBS drama, probably police procedurals like the "CSI'' shows. The two freshman comedies that had been filling the 8 p.m. Wednesday hour -- "Out of Practice'' and "Courting Alex'' -- go to the bench for the foreseeable future, suggesting their chances of renewed are now down to about zero.

Does this mean the ''frat boys" will suddenly be less horny
and there will no longer be gratuitous shots of Monica's cleavage?
They better not cut Lake's haul asses and sumbitches.

You know what's funny I'm reading Bill of Team Guido's comments and he had this to say..

Fine with me. It makes a good lead-in for "Lost" although I'm sure that's not what cbs had in mind.

It's a good move but I guess I'll have to watch it live next week as I am away from home until next Friday and can't adjust my DVR. It was also pretty stupid to wait until today to do this - they should have announced it at the end of episode on Tuesday.

I would imagine they would promote the TAR switch on Survivor tonight or during NCAA basketball.

Love this news. I hate shows I like being on at 10pm. Also The Amazing RAce bing on at 10pm is just a stupid idea. It's a family-friendly show and 8pm is perfect for it. The only other show I watch on Wed at 8pm is One Tree Hill.
Now'll I watch TAR live and tape OTH.

Man I didn't realise this was such a big deal, I just watch it when it's on no matter the time. But glad it's making people happy.

Man, I'm really jonesing for TAR. Now that it's moved, the only thing I look forward to watching on Tuesdays is Scrubs.
