Kevin has the kind of face you just want to smack.

I went from laughing indifference to seething hatred of this kid in the past week. I think it is his cocky attitude. Nothing is worse than being cocky without the talent to back it up.

I saw threads with hate for Lisa. Why? Because she was on Lion King at age 10? On the other hand, Kellie lied about never having performed in public before; then it's revealed that she placed 2nd in "Gimme the Mike"--a public venue; she also performed in other public pageants. Both girls are attractive, thin, appealing. But because Lisa chooses to tell the truth and Kellie chooses to stand up there and act like a backwoods hick, Lisa has no personality; but Kellie does. Some people's thinking never cease to amaze me.

Even though vftw website is targeting Kevin now, I'm beginning to understand why they make a mockery of this show. But, for the life of me, I have no idea why Kellie is next on their list. She's already getting the biased votes.

If people were honest with themselves, ranking the contestants last performance would look similar to the list below. Melissa, Kevin and Kellie should have definitely been in the bottom 3; but as Weakest Link says: it's unfair, biased votes that count.

1) Chris
2) Katharine
3) Mandisa
4) Taylor
5) Paris
6) Elliot
7) Lisa
8) Ace
9) Bucky
10) Kellie
11) Kevin
I just saw that votefortheworst website bit about kellie, and have withdrawn my support for her (not that she was my top pick anyway), and have thrown myself in the taylor, chris, elliot, mandisa corner. I am not crazy about mcphee, nice to look at, nice voice, but she's got some 'tude.

I think Kelly is indeed a phony, and hope that she gets booted before the finals.

That is what I hated about Weakest Link. If you got the best score...You got voted out. It should of had an immunity. If you got the best score that round...you are immune. Its like the show Biggest Loser. The person who loses the most during that challenge period..should be immune.

This looks interesting, though I honestly don’t know if I have the TV Guide Channel or not (and no, I can’t just go to directv and look it up because my programming package isn’t offered anymore).

New ‘American Idol’ pre-show to debut
TV Guide Channel will present an hourlong, live show on each ‘Idol’ night

Updated: 7:45 p.m. ET March 13, 2006

LOS ANGELES - Just like the Academy Awards, “American Idol” now merits its own pre-show.

Beginning Tuesday, the TV Guide Channel will present an hourlong, live pre-show before each of this season’s remaining “American Idol” telecasts.

“Idol Tonight” will feature appearances by ejected contestants and past “Idol” stars, plus interviews with vocal coaches, casting agents and industry insiders. Exclusive footage, including auditions, outtakes and post-performance confessions, will also be shown on the weekly program, a show publicist said Monday.

Hosted by former “Idol” finalist Kimberly Caldwell and one-time “Popstars” contestant Rosanna Tavarez, “Idol Tonight” will air at 7 p.m. and will capture the red carpet vibe outside “American Idol,” said Ryan O’Hara, president of the TV Guide Channel.

“Idol Tonight” will be broadcast from CBS Television City, where Fox’s “American Idol” is filmed.

And for those of you who missed it, here’s a very interesting interview with a contestant who got booted in Hollywood (was in the room that got cut). Really interesting to see how the process works:

And you have seen www.votefortheworst.com , right?

Simon weighs in on top three!

How about this one?

Simon predicts:

1. The bald-headed kid (Chris)
2. The guy with gray hair (Taylor)
3. Kellie Pickler (hmmm...he remembers her name)

Actually he doesn't explicitly say Chris will win but he mentions him first followed by Taylor in the top two. He does say Kellie will be third.

Funny how he never seems to remember anyone's name. He always describes them rather than mentioning them by name. Kellie is the first one I've seen him actually name in an article confirming what someone said in an earlier thread - Simon has it bad for Pickler.

So as my wife makes me watch this show, I've been thinking about this Kevin dude, and have decided something.

I sincerely hope Kevin stays around for awhile.

If he does, Simon will get more and more flabbergasted and outspokenly hostile towards him, especially when people he thinks have real talent start getting bounced ahead of him. Kevin will continue to get more smug and believe more and more of the hype. The producers will slowly at first, but then more quickly begin to panic over the fact that this pumpkin pie haircutted freak is making it deep into the finals. The golden goose that is AI is suddenly becoming a national laughingstock. At some critical breaking point Paula and Randy will realize what is happening, the magnitude of their mistake, and then turn vigorously on the evil that Kevin has become. But it will be too late. America will sense their desperation, and for the same reason that Philadelphia Eagle fans booed and pelted Santa Claus will snowballs Kevin will reach the point of no return and win this thing.

And America will be beside itself with laughter.

Yes, this has all happened before. AI execs aren't worried in the least. As in the past, this type of thing increases talk and buzz over the show. On the contrary, I believe they want Kevin to stay...for a while anyway. Anything to keep people talking about the show. However, AI execs are very smart. They won't let Kevin win.

No, I say get Kevin out now!! It's not worth having to watch him week after week just on the oft chance it is making tptb squirm. He has to go. The sooner the better.
