The people who voted for Kevin knew what they were doing. Based on the way he snapped at Simon, the guy is clearly passive aggressive. We need to keep him in the competition lest he finally go off the deep end and gun down the remaining contestants with an AK-47.

Yep. I was really, really hoping that either Ace or Lisa would get the axe this week because now there’s no chance of either leaving for at least another few weeks. Remember last year when Bo had the next to lowest number of votes in Week 6 or 7? He sailed on through for the rest of the season.

As for Kevin, where’s the love?

Wow, there is a lot of venom coming out in this thread... most of it directed at Kevin, but some at Lisa, Ace, and Katharine (and in other threads, Pickler)...

I thought Kevin would be going home if only because he lashed back at Simon this week, and whenever a bad contestant does that it's usually the kiss of death, because it shows the audience that he's not as aw-shucks humble as he should be. To not be in at least the bottom 3... I guess it's understandable, with so many contestants splitting votes, but surprising.

The complaints I've seen on here about Lisa could easily be transferred to Paris... not sure why there's so much hate, with some people not liking her personality and others saying she doesn't have much of one. It is amazing how many things people pull out about the contestant's personalities from their few minutes of screentime in the background. Was it a yawn? Was it shock?

Perhaps the new show on Fox reality will have them display a little more personality... I kinda liked the cheesy aspect of the first few seasons, when they all lived in the same house. Unfortunately, I've never heard of a Fox Reality station, so I doubt my cable company carries it.

Three performers separated themselves this week and were the only performances I watched more than once. Katharine hit a home run the other night and gained the most. Her performance seemed more mature and more heart felt than before. Chris is just rock solid every time. Taylor is the act everyone anticipates the most each week though. IMO, there is a huge dropoff after these three.

Lisa seems to have peaked early and is losing ground each week. As others have said, she just wreeks with that "Stage Mom" influence. Mandisa is steady like Chris, just not quite good enough. I like Kellie but she comes across as a lightweight. Elliot is good, but is getting lost in the shuffle and beat by the numbers game like Mandisa and needs a standout performance like Katharine just had. Paris, well she is just too young and bubbly for me. Can not get past that to enjoy her music. Ace has fallen the most the past couple of weeks and has blown whatever chance he had. Bucky and Kevin never had a chance.

Here is my ranking at this point:

I wasn't at all surprised to see Melissa go. Women with low, sultry voices always seem to go first. Guys like Kevin, unfortunately, last for about half the season.

I was surprised to see Ace in the bottom 3 though. I think he's middling, but certainly better than the bottom three.

AI has become like the game show, Weakest Link. It doesn't really matter how good you are; it's votes that count. And, of course, we know people do not vote for "talent", they vote based on their biases.

I saw threads with hate for Lisa. Why? Because she was on Lion King at age 10? On the other hand, Kellie lied about never having performed in public before; then it's revealed that she placed 2nd in "Gimme the Mike"--a public venue; she also performed in other public pageants. Both girls are attractive, thin, appealing. But because Lisa chooses to tell the truth and Kellie chooses to stand up there and act like a backwoods hick, Lisa has no personality; but Kellie does. Some people's thinking never cease to amaze me.

Even though vftw website is targeting Kevin now, I'm beginning to understand why they make a mockery of this show. But, for the life of me, I have no idea why Kellie is next on their list. She's already getting the biased votes.

If people were honest with themselves, ranking the contestants last performance would look similar to the list below. Melissa, Kevin and Kellie should have definitely been in the bottom 3; but as Weakest Link says: it's unfair, biased votes that count.
