Sayid is the only other one I remember seeing Walt and that could have been hallucination as well. He was really wanting to connect with Shannon and his subconscious may have allowed him to see something that wasn't really there so that he could better connect with Shannon.
I realize that these are quite a stretch to explain. And, yes, I think there is more going on than meets the eye. But I really feel that one of the things that sets Lost apart is the mystical feel it has while at the same time, it stays grounded in in reality. It really seems to achieve this really delicate balancing act between the real and the surreal.

This is the same thing that was shown on the Twilight Zone. It was not made for the series, but Serling liked it and showed it as one of the final episodes as a cost-cutting measure.
