What the masses watch isn't always the sign of quality. I mean, American Idol? Just because the most popular fast food choice is McDonalds doesn't mean it reflects the quality of food they serve.

True. But it's very hard to get fans for a show that is on friday nights and isn't given much of a chance to develope. Isn't this the basic argument for anyone who usually would be saying "Fuck Fox" if they did the same for something like head cases?
I saw two of the episodes for this and while it wasn't the best T.V. I've ever seen I saw that it could have had potential if given the chance to develope some ratings.
I wont say that the bible belt was the main factor in killing it but I'm not going to say their influence wasn't part of why it was doomed to fail. Oh well, that's the nature of the business.

I wrote an email to the AFA (what I posted above) and they wrote back, and this was my response to them:

You're an attack on Christianity. Jesus did not take
his time to ban secular plays of His day, regardless
of content, nor did he waste His time burning books,
protesting works of art, or petitioning against
merchants of His day because He did not agree with
their political or religious beliefs. In fact, the
only time you really see Jesus taking a public stance
against anything of the sort is when he railed against
the Temple and the money changers and also when He
spoke out against the organized Orthodox religions of
His day. Your organization stands against everything
Jesus Christ spoke against.

But, it probably is like talking to a wall and just having a quickie flame fest rather than trying to actually affect change, and that can be fun as well.

Thanks for posting that link to the unaired episodes! I just watched "Withdrawal" and thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you want to watch the remaining episodes, get over there! I got the impression that each episode would only be available to watch online for a week each.

I only found out today about the episodes being online and just watched Ep 6 at work. Wow, that was excellent!

Book of Daniel was just shit! I think for me the main problem I had was they tried to cram too many "deviant" personalities/situations on at once.
As for the marketing of BOD, I saw the ads for this show so often I could recite them. They were everywhere, from TV, to newspapers, to radio, and there is no better advertisement than controversy. No matter why you believe it was canceled, simple truth is if it was garnering NBC viewers, ie. making NBC money it would still be on.

I'm putting too much stock in it? Let's see here, several markets refused to air the show and specifically cited protests by religious organizations as the reason why.
Sounds like I'm being rather accurate about their pull in some areas.
