I was wondering if you'd start this one early. Based on the promos, i'm hoping Steve wasn't the one responsible. Assless jean jokes are so 1991.

On the other hand....
Spoiler:
Maya
returns!

can we have the booth review that last call on Peter Sarsgaard? I am throwing my red flag. No way that show was a thumbs-up.

I was waiting for the other thread to fall of the first page and fad into oblivion, but then I saw that someone bumped it so I figured, why not start it now.

As for the red flag on the last ep ryuryu2949, I liked it... not as much as Mr. Goose, but I thought it was a ep... especially compared to what we were shoveled the weeks prior.

Rumors say that Kelly Ripa might show up sometime during the show.

Here's an interesting read about: New Cast Members Play Big Roles on 'SNL'
But the newest crop of cast members has helped energize this season of "Saturday Night Live," which continues Saturday (11:30 p.m. EST) with old-time "SNL" favorite Steve Martin hosting, with Prince the musical guest. This year's four newbies — Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis — have all made notable contributions.

The shaggy-haired Samberg has lately become immediately recognizable to viewers. His mock hip-hop video with Chris Parnell about cupcakes and "The Chronicles of Narnia," entitled "Lazy Sunday" (penned with new writers Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer), was a huge hit online, where it was linked by blogs including Gawker.com.

Hader has proven himself with savvy impressions, including a hysterical, spacy Al Pacino. He's also experienced a few typical first-year roles, including playing a man frozen in a coma in one sketch.

"It got a laugh," Hader cheerfully defends his performance. "I've done speaking parts and not gotten a laugh."

Wiig already has a recurring character — a checkout lady at Target who couldn't be happier with her job, who races away from her register and off to the shelves to pick up each new product she spots.

Sudeikis, who was a writer for two seasons before entering the cast, has proven capable in carrying a skit himself — as he did in a virtual one-man sketch where he gradually descends from shopping for a wedding ring to trying to steal one.

"I think, in a certain sense, everyone that's new is doing well," Samberg says. "I have nothing to compare it to, but it certainly feels like there's been a sense of excitement all through this season."

I hope that Prince actually stars in the Prince Show, perhaps dressed as another star that is a guest.

I didn't think that would have a chance of happening, but now I read that Maya is back this ep, so her Beyonce will be able to participate.

Dang I hope Prince loosens up a bit a does a sketch or two.

I hope that's the case as well, but the stories I have heard about Prince (notably Kevin Smith and of course Charlie Murphy) don't lead me to believe that Prince is the type of guy who likes to laugh at himself.

Armisen has stated that his favorite musical artist is Prince, so hopefully he could talk him into being on The Prince Show or something. I bet we'll see him in a sketch or two.

I'm going out on a limb and say that we won't see the typical "Worst. Episode. Ever." posts that appear every week. Steve Martin brings something special every time he hosts.

Heard a rumor that Natalie Portman may host in March. Expect that thread to be filled up with fanboy cum.

Yeah, "Weird Al" had a bit to say on that subject as well. Maybe declining album sales will force him to show a sense of humor, but I doubt it.

I figure if the guy can loosen up enough during the period in which he was still referring to himself as an unpronouncable glyph to appear on The Muppet Show, I would hope we can look forward to him participating tonight.

That monologue woulda been funnier if Steve sang it.

Let's hope they start featuring Maya's girls as much as Rachel's.

Ok, I have just literally shot myself in the head over how painfully awful the Oprah, don't buy stuff you can't afford, and Hamas bits were. I'm using my last moments of life to type this.

So I guess it's official, both SNL and Steve Martin have lost it.

I think the one good thing about this episode is going to be Prince. THAT, my friends, is what "musical guest" is all about.
