The auditions DO seem long this year -- like longer than previous year's by a country mile. This is the 4th season I've watched and it seems to me that the show picked up to Hollywood sooner in previous years. Maybe it's just that this year's crop of people are kind of meh.

Im wondering...the waiting rooms NEVER look full...do you think that when Simon Cowell held out this year, he demanded that they see less people in the judges audition...and maybe added another layer of pre-auditions?

I missed the end of the Austin ep. Did the chick that said she thought her plane was going to crash--the one they said they'd let perform again later in the show--make the cut?

Is that the one that's a "fit model"?

I liked how they both had identical reactions to what the judges said (before the singing). And I agree that while they are hot, her singing won't take her too far in Hollywood. But I hope she gets some more air-time!

I was really annoyed by that Clay Aiken wannabe. Who really on their right mind go out of their way to look like Clay Aiken?

Man, those twins were gorgeous. She was only a mediocre singer though.
I'm glad the auditions are done. Now let's get down to bidness. How many episodes will be about the Hollywood cuts before we get to the public voting?
That Clay Aiken wannabe made the real Clay Aiken look like John Wayne.

I was quite surprised the blonde girl who worked in the nursing home didn't get through. I even went back and watched it again to make sure her "biography" piece didn't cloud my judgement of my wanting her to make it. She had a better voice and was certianly more "likeable" than some of those who got through. Not as attractive as the "twins" but, a better singer and certainly nice looking.

Don't take that as fact, but it seems about right, 3 episodes for hollywood week. Week of 2/20 should start the fan voting...

I wish there was more of the metal-duo who did "Joy to the World". Lead singer (dressed in fake armor and spikes, in a bad metal voice): "JOY TO THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!" ... uncomfortable pause ... turns to his buddy, and meekly asks, "line?".
