Holy moly. When the guy w/ was doing the Michael Jackson thing came out and got hugs from his family, did anyone see the grill on the chick hugging him? Wow, those were summer teeth!

And there was a point where Ryan Seacrest said something like "you obviously have something that the selectors liked". Of course Simon, Paula, and Randy don't see 20,000 or 30,000 people in each city. What I wonder is, are the bad singers told during the earlier auditions that they sound great which is why they are being sent on? This would explain why some people who can't sing look shocked when told that by Simon, Paula, and Randy. |

Surprised that no one has mentioned Katharine McPhee. She was the one with a mother who is a vocal teacher. I think her training shows in that she may have the widest vocal range of any of the contestants and just amazing control. However, there was something in her voice that was just SLIGHTLY off last night, though it may have just been the nerves. I think the high notes got a little too screechy for my tastes. But the judges didn't seem to notice. All 3 of them absolutely loved her. The potential for greatness is there, plus, she also has the looks to pull it off.

I have saving most of the AI to my pc through HD, I am bummed, I think I must have forgotten to turn back on the recording after a commercial - so I missed recording Paris. |

However, it's a pretty safe assumption. |

Are these in the correct order? Did they really think that the vocal-coach-mom girl has a better voice than Paris? I mean, she was good, but was she really THAT good?
|
Paris is by no means winning "for sure". Her voice is kind of squeaky sometimes. But she is good and has amazing potential.
|
Paris was a good singer, but I'm not sold on the idea that she's the best we've seen so far plus remember the auditions still have three more cities.
And her speaking voice was, well, different. We'll be seeing a lot more of her (Paris), so I'll have plenty of time to form a better opinion, one way or the other. And I hope that they have it again where the final 12 are 6 guys and 6 girls. Let's face it, out of what they've shown, the girls are dominating. |

I haven't heard any outstanding voices. At best, some of them are just good. Outside of AI, none of them would likely get a second look.

For those who care. I didn't see or hear these guys.
Twin "Idol" Wannabes Booted By Sarah Hall 1 hour, 58 minutes ago Fox has dashed Terrell and Derrell Brittenum's dreams of becoming the next American Idols. ADVERTISEMENT The 28-year-old identical twin brothers were "uninvited" from the competition after their criminal records became public fodder, their lawyer said. "It was an amicable breakup," attorney Maurice Bennett said on an Atlanta radio station. "The guys understood why. It's amazing how these things work." The Brittenums made their mark on American Idol during the first episode of the fifth season, when they wowed the judges at the Chicago auditions and earned passes to Hollywood. But the Tennessee natives' brush with glory turned out to be short-lived, as the brothers soon landed behind bars on charges that they used another man's identity and financial information last June to purchase a 2005 Dodge Magnum in Atlanta. Both Brittenums refused extradition to Georgia, which led to additional charges against them. Fox has remained mum on whether the brothers would be seen in future episodes of the talent search. However, the New York Post reports that the network put the kibosh on a planned live performance by the Brittenums Wednesday night on MSNBC's Scarborough County, indicating that they are probably still under contract. According to Bennett, both brothers were released from jail on bond Sunday morning and were preparing to travel to Los Angeles for the next round of eliminations when they received word that their presence was no longer welcome. Though the twins may have blown their shot at Idol worship, they reportedly have other opportunities to consider. Bennett claims to have been contacted by "several" record labels interested in signing the brothers. |
