Well, it might sound snobbish, but it's just something every true fan knows about. If we're lucky though, this year's extravaganza should blow 2006 out of the water. I personally think that this is the "Year of Ashley", even though others are obviously trying to push their "Jazzgenda" on the rest of us.

, he wanted to teach Will a valuable lesson on the value of a dollar, his dollar not Will's dollar. He had to get that straight up front, my wealth != your wealth.

I bought the first season when it was really cheap, but I haven't watched it. Good little show, way back when.

It exists? I've been enjoying this thread for a year now, but always thinking that it was all tongue-in-cheek. Sorry if I'm ruining the joke for anyone, but there is no way any of this is real. Is there?

I didn't see Jazz in that video. Did Uncle Phil throw him out again?

the beginning was nearly exactly the same as the song opening fresh prince.
complete with hitting a radio with a b-ball.

I figured I better bump this thread since it was recently referenced in the discussion about Theo Huxtable's education (which is taking the series a bit too seriously in my opinion - afterall it's just a sitcom.)

But while I'm here, I may as well pose the question that I'm sure we were all asking each other after this year's convention: what happened? Attendance was markedly lower than in years past, despite the cast appearances that we usually count on to draw the more casual fans. I thought Ross Bagley was particularly generous with his time this year despite his on-going legal issues and was kind enough to drop his usual policy of charging per autograph in exchange for a very reasonable appearance fee.

Anyway, I know the organizers are always looking to the fans for new ideas to keep things interesting. Please submit any suggestions using the "Fresh Fone" hotline number that was distributed as part of this years welcome packs or post any suggestions here and I'll pass them on to the committee.

This thread, although short, comes in a close second to the light saber/adamantium thread, for me.

By the way, I haven't attended FreshCon since '04 when that dude made his grand entrance by re-enacting Trevor's "fall from grace", aka "The Prince-ident". Although a grand idea it obviously ended tragically and thus left me with a horrible taste in my mouth. I feel that the lust for one-upmanship has turned the Con into something other than what it started out to be and put all of us true FreshFans in danger. If you remember that same year it was rumored that the women dressed as Daphne Reid were attempting to "erase" the women dressed as Janet Hubert-Whitten. Arguing over which mom was best is one thing and it made for some enlightening discussions over the years. But abduction?!?! That's where I drew the line.

I remember when FreshCon was a place for ALL Princetons to come and share their stories of how FPoBA changed their lives. It's gotten to be so competitive and commercialized over the years. It's sad really.

Yeah, the ads for the DVD season sets were everywhere in recent years, which is odd to me because I'd assume everyone there had those sets preordered the day they were announced. Yet Warner drops the ball completely and doesn't do the obvious thing... you have the most fervid FPoBA fans on the planet collected in one place and yet you don't try to solicit their input about what they would like to see in future sets? These discs have been notorious for their lack of extras, which is inexcusible considering Alfonso revealed that they were contacted to record commentaries and were excited about the idea, only to never hear from the DVD producers again.

The crummy thing is that Warner pushed out all the previous sponsors, then abandoned the con completely this year after disappointing dvd sales (looks like boycotting the dvds because of the music changes sent the wrong message after all). The coordinators lost a lot of money and I'd be surprised if we even see a 2008 con.

So, will Alfonso be attending the next convention or will he be tied up at the Silver Spoons convention?

Re: Why didn't Uncle Phil pick up Will from the airport?

You know what else I've always been wondering has been concerning Will's mom's radical transformation from bath robe and rollers to sophisticated and made up. When you see her banishing Will to Bel Air during the opening credits, she looks like some suburban house wife who constantly lectures her child. In future episodes, she doesn't resemble this at all. Why is that and why did they never address this new woman transformation?

Re: Why didn't Uncle Phil pick up Will from the airport?

It was an exaggerated music video-turned-credits sequence, and apparently that's Will Smith's real mother playing the role in that video.

Re: Why didn't Uncle Phil pick up Will from the airport?

We all know that's not true - Will has no "real mother" and was birthed from the combined semen of test audiences and their exit polls.

Now let us celebrate the Willennium in style tomorrow!
