Well, the race is over and it's happened again. The winners were spoiled in one of the weekly threads. This has happened more than a few times now. And it's not the same people that I can put them on "ignore" either.

Is the only option to stay completely out of the threads until the very end?

I agree. I didn't know who won and didn't want to know, but someone mentioned it in a thread and it spoiled the remaining episodes for me. Not sure if they know who they are, but it isn't hard to find out (unless they went back and spoilered their post).

As for the "final challenge" online, even though it has been mentioned here, I'll spoiler just in case:

Spoiler:
There was no doubt in my mind that the Bransens would win, since they actually seem to be good at georgraphy whereas the Weavers...not so much. But to have a challenge for a vehicle after giving away a million dollars is pretty anticlimatic to me. Didn't the Bransens each win a vehicle earlier in the race, or am I confusing this with the Survivor challenge? I know that they got "free gas for life", but I thought that they won vehicles as well?

Another thing that was ruined. I can't complain about that as much, the mini-race has been posted. I just haven't gotten to it yet.

So how many Linz are there in total? I thought that there were another three or four at home, but I can't find anything on CBS.com about it. Does anyone know? Are they male or female?

I guess I'm in the minority here but I didn't think this season sucked at all. It was missing the stuff overseas but I think it held its own. I liked the 4 person teams because it gave more personality to each team. We had the team everyone loved to hate as well. Some of the tasks were kind of lame but that can be said for any season. I think they need to do a better job with those. I'd much rather see teams doing tasks together rather than having to wait for each team to complete. I think the greatest strength the Linzs' had was their ability to work together. They didn't fight amongst themsevles. They also had great navigation. Those two qualities add up to going far in this game. One thing I would change is having all teams start at the same time at each leg instead of when they arrived. They bunch them all up eventually anyway. I would much rather them all start at the same time and have a task that they all race to complete first.

The geography puzzle was the best thing about this season and the most challenging. I would have like to have seen the Weaver mom do the puzzle. Probably would have been the funniest thing on the show all year.

I think they had to wear helmets because many people who have never walked on ice have a hard time doing it and I'm sure TAR producers didn't want someone knocking themselves out or killing themselves by taking a spill and banging their heads on the ice.

CBS's website mentions the family size as they decribe where the money's going:

The plan is to give half the winnings to their parents, and split the rest among all seven siblings.

It was a blessing and enjoyment to see the Weavers came in last.

Take a drink every time the Weavers stroke Ted's ego.

This is the second time in a row that the winner has been revealed early due to suspicious online betting. The show really needs to crack down on that.

Thought so! From the article linked from above.

"Megan says she's very close with her brothers, even though she's outnumbered, six-to-one. "

Does it have more to do with the contestants talking or from people in the final destination city?

If it's the city, maybe having the finish line in some foreign country or in the middle of nowhere might be an option?

by far, the best part of last night's finale had to be Rolly reading that clue. he pronounced Montreal as "Ma-tell". i watched that 3 times, i couldn't stop laughing.

Did anybody see the Early Show (I think that's the one on CBS)? I want to know if they talked to the Weavers and how they came off.

You may be on to something. One thing I noticed was that they included extended highlights at the beginning of the program and the interviews at the end also seemed longer than usual.

It must have been a laugh riot watching whichever Weaver it was that did the puzzle. I feel cheated.

Didn't they
Spoiler:

that information? Because I don't remember reading who won.

Buy yes, for the future, please keep any information about the outcome to yourselves because I and most other people don't want to know.

Initially, no it wasn't tagged. I reported it and a mod fixed it.

No remember that selfish person Cindy decided to keep the car for herself instead of giving the 4 cars to the other people.

Bookies that take bets on this are just begging to be past-posted and they deserve it.

In this case it might have been the result of the Linz's talking, since the suspicous betting(all for the maximum amount allowed-all on the Linz's) came from the home state of the Linz's: Ohio. I don't see how else those folks there could have come up with that information.

As for the racing last night, I think the Bransen gal, who first found the clue from the tower, should have been a little obvious about it, with a Linz family member standing right next to her. If she had acted in a more surreptitious manner, then it might have given them a little extra time on the Linz's and perhaps change the outcome of the race. I have to say their decision making there at the end was awful: choosing to do the log rolling and the shoe thing. But even with those mistakes, they still came close to winning it all.

Spoiler:
Actually, the Bransens did already win 1 car. They won 3 legs of the race and the runner up prize.

Ep 3 - Each licensed driver Won free gasoline for life from BP and Arco
Ep 4 - Trip for 4 to Orlando
Ep 11 - Buick Lucerne
Runner Up Prize - Buick GMC Yukon

All in all, not bad for coming in 2nd.

Did anyone else think they should have done the stadium task differently. It should have been the first to find a ticket could run down and take the 1st flight. They made it complete luck because there is no way one team was going to find a box and keep looking for another to find what time is better.

Well, regarding the log challenge, the other two teams had trouble finding the actual ice arena and sounded like it took a long time to drive there anyway. They were allowed to continue even as the log rolled off the track so I don't think it took that long relative to the other task. I would agree on the shoe challenge as that was luck. I would have taken Shaq's shoes and looked for a large woman with huge feet

Spoiler:
Anyway, most people predicted the Linz family would be strong in the very first thread just by looking at the group photos. They managed to look terrible in the first leg but basically were the front runner the rest of the way. The gambling thing is kind of lame as really I think most sites limit the bets to $1,000 so as to decrease exposure risk to something already determined. I would imagine, they allow the wagering as a publicity stunt.

Good call. That would have been much better.
