Alias "Prophet Five" 09-29-05

Episode Title: "Prophet Five"

Spoiler:
In the season premiere episode, after learning that the man she has known as Michael Vaughn is under investigation and suspected of being a double agent, Sydney begins to question whether their business and personal relationship over the years had all been a lie. When she discovers that she's pregnant with Vaughn's baby, she becomes determined to uncover the truth about him. Meanwhile, because of Jack's past betrayal by Irina, he begins to worry that his daughter may suffer the same fate that he did.

I'm not sure I can make it through another season of this.

Oh Alias, where have thee gone? I'll remain hopelessly optimistic that the show will return to it's former form.

I'll give it a few episodes before I make any decisions, but I'm not really looking forward to this season like I did in the past.

I'll be watching (or I should say recording since there are 2 other shows on at the same time that I like better). I am hoping its the last season though, because I've went from being a HUGE fan to missing episodes and not even caring. the commercials look terrible.

As long as SpyDaddy gets to go evil on someone every week - I'll keep watching.

I gave up on this halfway through last season only to rally a few months ago and power through many horrible episodes. Thankfully the last 4-5 resumed some good storylines and form which gave me renewed hope. I have a feeling it is not going to turn out well.

I'm going to stick with Alias and West Wing through their (likely) final seasons. Not really looking forward to pregnant Sydney though.

I'm not excited about this season. I've watched since day one so this is the last round for me. If it doesn't pick up in 3 weeks. I'm out.

Yeah, I've been a faithful watcher since day 1... but I just can't get even slightly excited about this season.

I'm not excited but I'll keep watching (I always figured this show would last five seasons and I'm guessing this is the last year). However, if they find some way to get rid of Vaughn, I'm walking away immediately.

I don't know why they didn't put this on Wed at 8, before Lost. Seems a better fit than the two comedies they have scheduled now. Plus the competition in that hour is mostly comedy and reality shows. They might get some people tuning in before Lost is on.

The writers are clearly beyond tapped for this show. Spoiler discusses what is revealed in the previews and in the text from post #1, nothing else.
Spoiler:
At this point, every single main character left has been or has been considered a double agent. In fact every main character from the beginning (except for Will) has now been or at least been under investigation for being a double agent.
Enough! Come up with something else to do! Rant over.

I will be watching in the hopes that they either move on amazing fast from this idea and begin having good stories again. Perhaps this show will work with a complete restart.

there was an aritcle in usa today
Spoiler:
that kind of says that none of the regulars are going anywhere and that the rumors of Vaughn, Weis and nadia leaving are untrue. (they didn't mention those names specifically but its implied its them since they are the characters that have been rumored to be leaving this year.

also, i still have the season finale of 4 on tape, should i watch that first (i already know what happens though.

I had the last 2 episodes from season 4 saved on my TIVO for awhile before it exploded. So I have no idea how last year ended.

Damn, I got the time wrong and missed the first 30 minutes. 7 PM not 8 PM here. Argh.
Just tell me one thing: did they bring back the original ALIAS credits run? You know the one with the dark background and spotlight moving around.

As for the last 30 minutes, it seemed fine.

and what was that song playing at the funeral?

This was an awful episode. For the fact that he was shot that many times and still made it to the hospital okay to live for a 'little while', alone.

And I can't stand those (final) musical montages. Only one show has ever gotten that right - and no one should ever try to surpass it again.

I think the episode set the stage for what could be an interesting season. If you've invested in these characters, then it's easy to stay tuned to see their eventual fate. It will be good to see Sydney sad again. Doesn't that sound terrible?

I liked it, started off better then the last 2 seasons. I still think this is one of the better shows on tv. I will be watching of course.

Were we supposed to know who the blonde chick was who helped that "ghost" guy decrypt Vaughn's file? It wasn't the girl from that party in Capetown, was it?
