With his broken English it almost sounded like Jin said "Otters!! Otters!!" C'mon, we're not that scary.

Because of the Hindu origins of Dharma, I would suggest that it is an elephant's trunk in the symbol and not a serpent.

When the shark first appeared, I turned to my wife and sarcastically said "that is no normal shark, that is an island shark, booga booga booga".

Then we see the damn logo on it later in the episode. This show is getting dangerously close to becoming a satire of itself.

But, I must admit, even with as angry as I was at the end of last season, it has kept me watching, (so far anyways).

Yeah, it was there. I paused the DVR when I first caught it, just to make sure.

Maybe Lost is just a big commercial for a new product roll-out by the Dharma Co.

the logo on the shark while similar to the dharma logo is not the same logo.

i cant get a good shot of it, too dark.
but nearly the same are the outside lnes.
the shape inside the lines is a vertical line the goes through the left and the right side of the outer lines.

Nuclear bunker with it's own ecosystem used to repopulate the world in case of total destruction? Genetically engineered creatures? Maybe humans were too complicated to engineer so they ended up with this disease that makes them zombie like?

jacked from another forum:

Desmond's DHARMA symbol has a curved line connecting "Career Prospects" and "Marriage and Romantic Happiness".

The shark's symbol connected "Family and Health" and "Children".

When we first saw the DHARMA symbol, half of the episode was about Jack meeting his future wife, developing his bedside manner and Desmond mentioning he almost became doctor (Career and Romantic Happiness).

In this episode, half the episode was about Michael and Walt (Family and Children). Feng shui and the symbols may have a strong significance in the plot.

How are Desmond and Jack connected? Apparently, I'm missing out on that one (I'm so tired I can barely think straight).

[Is Desmond Julie Bowen's former fiancee?]

Jack met him while running up the steps at the football stadium after he operated on Julie Bowen's character. Jack told Desmond he couldn't save her, then Desmond asked if Jack believed in miracles.

Does anyone know if this will replay before next weeks ep like it did this week? Somewhere between 8 and 9 a bunch of my channels messed up and now I am not getting ABC which was set to record. Thanks.

I'd suggest you stay tuned because the replay of the season debut didn't come together until the day after it aired. That said, I wouldn't count on it -- they do have shows that are actually scheduled for that timeslot.

I enjoyed that scene as well, probably my favorite from this episode (other than the air dut scene). When she started moving boxes to get up to the air duct, I thought, there is no way she leaves all that food. Then the look on her face when she was eating it was great; half disgust over choosing a candy bar over a way out of the room and half pleasure of actually getting to eat a candy bar after 44 days on the island. Well done.

great screen captures. notice how the shark is a little different.

but, I don't see the relation in how a swan connects to opposite sides of the hexgon for any symbolism. try the swan from Greek mythology:

Wow. It's amazing at how they literally advanced the Locke/Jack/Kate storyline literally nowhere, but it's still fucking good.

So far, this season is light years beyond last years starting few.

So it appears while Lock, Jack and Co have been pretty well organized, the other survivor's went all Lord of the Flies and shit.

I love this show so much, I don't even need to get caught up in the meaning of all of it. I am so thrilled with the stories that, as long as they keep up this kind of quality and entertainment, I'll go with this story as long as they want me to.

Everything with Jack/Kate/John/Desmond was so tense I wasn't even breathing.

Honestly, though, I would have been satisfied watching Kate crawling around like that for the full hour.

I can't think of a show more addictive than this one. This is my 3rd favorite show on tv, but it's the hardest one to wait another week for.

I kept passing out trying to watch my recording of this episode. Not a good episode at all.

Ditto on everything, except that I really like getting caught up in the meaning of it all, and it is my most favorite show ever.

I really liked how tonight's episode went. Honestly, for those who didn't like tonight's show, how else could they have done it? (other than having an extended episode last week)
