Cool! Any chance of having him do a DVDTalk exclusive interview? You could do the interviewing, or could have some of the regular interviewers do it. Just basic stuff, like how he got the part, what the audition was like, what is down the hatch, what shooting in Hawaii is like, etc.

I really like his character, sort of a Yoda / Crocodile Dundee mix, and he plays it perfectly.

On a separate note, pardon the pun, is there any news of a Lost soundtrack? I really want that CD that Hurley has been listening to, the songs I've heard include:
Joe Purdy - Wash Away (episode 3)
Damien Rice - Delicate (episode 17)

There was one more that I've heard but can't remember the episode, and I'm also only through Episode 17 so far.

I doubt there'd be enough material for a soundtrack.

The other song you probably want is "Are You Sure" by Willie Nelson, which was played at the end of an earlier episode during a sad, introspective moment, while everyone was thinking about what they were missing. Great moment, and great song.

Both tracks should be widely available online. One place was legally selling the MP3 of Wash Away for $0.88; I just can't remember which one it was. Some Googling will turn it up (that's how I found it.)

iTunes has Wash Away for $0.99 (and the Delicate song too), it's just that there's Wash Away and Wash Away (Reprise). I'm not sure which one I want though I'm thinking it's the reprise version since it's the best seller by Purdy.

Okay, in my DVD marathon I have reached the point where Boone is in the plane playing with the radio. During the regular season thread discussions, (which I'm not going to try to find because they're all like a bazillion pages each anyway) there was much discussion as to what Boone heard from whoever was broadcasting back to him. Many sources were listed as to what was said, and various versions were reported. For whatever reason, I'll spoilerize it although nothing is really "given away" if you've watched season 1.

Spoiler:
I recall kicking on the closed captioning back then and it was (paraphrasing) "there were no survivors of flight 815". Now, on the DVD, I did the same but it now says "WE'RE the survivors of flight 815". I assume it's common knowledge that more people from the plane will be found this season. I just thought the "change" was interesting.

By the way, that was my first-ever spoiler. I'm so proud.

If you have your Lost Season Pass set to pad this show, check your To Do list! This recap episode is considered an episode of Lost, and will run from 8PM until 9PM. If you are padding the end of episodes, the actual premiere will not be recorded!

According to JJ, it was always supposed to be 'we're.' The CC and previews were the fault of ABC screwing them up.

As for a soundtrack...there is a music guide on the official site - http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/episodes/music/1.html . But almos none of the eps have songs listed, lol.

I would personally like a soundtrack with the score or whatever the hell you call it, some of that is pretty relaxing.

Any links to these interviews?
Not on hand, but they're all over the place. A google search will probably reveal much.

Josh Hinkle

But, again, there's no way to know that they're not just lying to throw people off. Even if someone guessed the exact plot they're not going to admit it obviously.
That's always a possibility, but they'd have to be pretty stupid to do something like that. If someone guesses the exact plot, expect them to be quiet or evasive about it, not deny it completely. When they say things like, "I guarantee you it's not a figment of Walt's imagination," I'm inclined to believe them.

And while I guess you could believe he is lying too, Javier said that they've only intentionally misled the audience once in the history of the show and that was a small blurb (pre-finale) about how Arzt would factor into the second season. He said it was a short-term fib with an immediate payoff and figured the audience would be forgiving.

There are a lot of theories about the island that they haven't denied and some they haven't even addressed, so I'm inclined to believe them when they go out of their way to make it clear what things it's not.

Interesting, nice link. Though for Week 17 they say “no music” when that is the episode with the Damien Rice song, “Delicate” (it’s the song that is playing at the very end with somebody in the water, then Hurley’s CD player stops playing because the battery finally died).

Here’s the songs from the various episodes that it does list:

Song: "Leavin' On Your Mind"
Artist: Patsy Cline
Label: Universal Music Group

Song: "Wash Away"
Artist: Joe Purdy

"House of the Rising Sun"
Air Date: 10/27/2004

Song: "Are You Sure"
Artist: Willie Nelson
Label: Step One Records

Song: "You All Everybody"
Artist: Drive Shaft
Click here to hear the song!

Song: "I Shall Not Walk Alone"
Artist: The Blind Boys of Alabama
Label: Real World

Yes, you can listen to the full song of You All Everybody. It was a shame about what happened to the band Drive Shaft. First they break up, then their bass player vanishes like he's lost on an island or something.

Man I just plowed through the DVD set. Season 2 now!

I'm glad to see though that some of the theories I'd been coming up with as the season went along (such as Walt being like the Twilight Zone kid) are readily being dismissed.

I noticed this the other day, and planned on posting it here. Very good information, as I think all Tivo owners have padded their LOST recordings.

so, kristin veitch from e! online had some clues as to what's in the hatch. I'm not really trying hard to figure it out, cause i want to be surprised, but for those of you that do:

Spoiler:
1. In a way, it's something you've never seen before. But in a way, it's something you see every day and are probably seeing right now.
2. It begins and ends with the same letter.
3. Some of you were there this morning. (This clue was given on September 12th)
4. The word that begins and ends with the same letter is not a plural, and it is not SOULS or WINDOW.
5. One of the castaways has already seen this thing before. The others might have as well, but I know for sure that one of them, one of the MAAAAIIIIN ones, has seen it before.
6. This thing in the Hatch can be called by two different words: One is three letters and starts and ends with two letters that are right next to each other in the alphabet. The other is seven letters long and starts and ends with the same letter.

I could ask. We're actually not real close. It's a big family spread all over the place, plus he's my mom's sister's husband, so we're not blood related, I guess.

Here's an article that was done in a local paper near me, he was up for a family reunion this summer. (I'm in southern WI, south of Madison)

You might have to save the first one and zoom in to read it, sorry.

Here are some minor spoilers for Season 2:

Or maybe this is from the end of Season 1, I've only gone through 17 episodes (I'm rationing them).

Has anyone read the first episode recaps that have been popping up all over the web? Some pretty detailed stuff, and it seems like it fits a lot of the clues.

Why did I read those? Now I know there is a "name" subdirectory at imdb.com!

me too..I want to know ..but I don't ...usually if I read one far in advance I'll tend to forget..but...I dunno about Lost...I really like going into the episode only knowing/seeing what I see on the preview for the next week and avoid the Lost threads here like it's the plague..

he apparently lived in westminster md which is about 10 min from where i live, but moved down so he wouldnt have to travel.\

also a more general question, as i am not plowing through 20 pages of lost threads to find out
in the second or third episode, the korean couple tries to offer food to hurley and the pregnant girl (also, in the comentary, they mentioned that they were amazed that it took till episode 18 or 19 for her to have the baby. Was she pregnant in real life?)
I would like to know if there is a translation as to what they said. In the comentary they said that their goal was to only offer subtitles when they are talking to each other, but not with the other castaways.

This is kind of a spoiler I suppose, but somehow some people figured out what was being whispered when Sayid and Sawyer were in the jungle - http://www.lostlinks.net/whispers.htm . Pretty interesting.

Not that much of a mystery, at least when Sawyer was in the jungle subtitles had what was being whispered. I assume the same for Sayed.
