A solid second season. I enjoyed episode 5 the most.

That was my feeling on the season, uneven, but the 5th episode was LOL funny as hell. I guess episode 6 drove home the point that all agents do is whack off all day.

If anyone wants to keep seeing Maggie, she has a bit part on Ugly Betty.

That wasn't the series finale, was it? Or has that not been decided as yet?

I thought Gervais/Merchant were done with Extras and moving on to something else.

I was OK with that being a season finale episode, but I thought it really needed more closure if it's going to be a series finale.

From what Gervais has said, that was all.

So, season 6 only had 6 episodes?

Thanks. I knew the first season did, but wasn't sure about the second.

Don't think this was posted yet but www.rickygervais.com says that S2 will air in the US on HBO starting in Jan 14, '07.

I already managed to watch all the second series and it is far better than the first series. The cameos are much better overall...especially David Bowie and the song he makes up about Andy, and De Niro taking a liking to a pen with a naked lady on it.

Ricky Gervais is starting to grate a bit now though. He is just playing the same character in everything. His manager in the series (can't rmember his name off hand) is the best thing in Extras overall. A lot of the humour is also catered for English viewers, so i find it can't see how American viewers can truly appreciate it. Especially with people like Ross Kemp and Les Dennis from the first series.

I agree that S2 is better than S1 though am not getting sick of Gervais & I really like S1 too. Barry really shines in a couple of these eps and Merchant's role is expanded somewhat. Enjoy.

I completely disagree. Although the style of his humour is the same in everything, there is nothing similar at all between his David Brent character from The Office (U.K.) and his Andy Millman character from Extras. David Brent is the jokey boss driving everyone else up-the-wall in trying to always be the center of attention, while Andy Millman is more of a "straight man" role in which things (usually bad) happen to him beyond his control. In no way at all are these him playing the "same character" again.

I agree completely. I found S2 to be much more LOL funny, which surprises me because I loved S1. I think it came off far less Anglo-centric, which makes it more "gettable" for the American audience.

And if anyone missed season 1, do not hesitate to watch season 2 regardless. You will thank me later.

Tonight's episode was again, just as all of last season, shown in a letterboxed 4:3 format on HBO HD. What gives?

This one was great.

However I can't imagine anything unseating Patrick Stewart as my favorite Extras bit.

"I've seen everything. I've seen it all."

Hilarious.

It's weird seeing Maggie on "Extras" because she's much more made up and appealing on "Ugly Betty".

Even weirder? Seeing her on Eleventh Hour as a gun-toting cop.

What a great series. I wish that the BBC had longer seasons, 6 episodes is just too little.

Ricky Gervais is a great actor. His character Andy Millman has this under-current of sadness you can see in his eyes. A longing for something better. I don't think it's a stretch to call him one of my favorites. David Brent is one of my favorite characters on television and Andy Millman is getting up there. Maggie is also great!

Extras - episode 8 - 1/21/07

Andy finds the perks of celebrity aren't all they're cracked up to be when he encounters David Bowie in the VIP area of a club.
Funny episode tonight. Loved the VIP scene when David Bowie starts singing off the cuff. Comedy gold.

I keep singing that Bowie song to myself.
