And I take it CSI: Grave Danger is the season finale, right? There's no way those in the TV industry honor Q over one of their own (especially with the amazing pilot of Lost to pick from). It would make the most boring stretch of the Emmys much more entertaining, though.

I don't really understand it. BL is a comedy more than drama. Can anyone deny this? I'm surprised they got the noms they did with how crowded the drama field is. DEK took a big risk submitting it as a drama.

Aside from a few episodes, the second season of Nip/Tuck was a major letdown after the first season, but I was still hoping to see Julian McMahon recognized.
And how in the almighty hell did they ignore Denis Leary and Rescue Me in the major categories!?! (I'm happy to see it was noticed in the directing/writing categories.)
No love for Sarah Chalke, Judi Reyes or Christa Miller Lawrence.
At least one of them deserved a nod.And Scrubs and Arrested Development are fucked because of Desperate Housewives (which I liked less and less as the season went on).
for Terry O'Quinn and Naveen Andrews.

Yep. If it was submitted as a comedy, I would bet that Candace Bergin would have been nominated and it stood a good shot of being nominated for Best Comedy.

The other
aspect of the West Wing is the 2 acting nods it earned: Stockard Channing and Alan Alda. Channing seems to seriously overact and she didn't have a lot of screen time. Alda was in what? 2 or 3 episodes?

I'm disappointed Kristen Bell didn't get a nomination for Veronica Mars, but I know it is very rare for WB and UPN shows to get nominated for anything.

At this rate Gilmore Girls will never get any nominations. They nominate Alan Alda who was on The West Wing for all of five minutes but diss Jimmy Smits? And why oh why is that show still up for best drama? Oh well, at least Lost and House got some love.

I just hope Marcia Cross gets the award, though I think it will go to either Messing or Hatcher.

Would have liked to see Sarah Chalke get a nod for Scrubs but an glad Scrubs got a Best Comedy and Actor nod.
Eva Langora got ingnored for Desperate Housewives too. That must be tough going into work with your other costars getting nominated and your not.
Great news about Arrested Development. Now if more people would start watching it!
I would have taken West Wing out of there and put Battlestar Galactica in there.

For the most part, EMMY got it right this year with the nominations. I agree that BATTLESTAR GALACTICA deserved some attention...but so does DEAD ZONE...sadly those types of shows will probably NEVER get the attention they deserve (remember all of the times EMMY snubbed STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and BUFFY?)
I kind of disagree with you guys about Alda...yeah, maybe he wasn't in a lot of episodes, but he was GREAT in the shows he was in...I wouldn't be shocked if he upset Terry O'Quinn, whom I'm guessing is the "favorite" in this category.
Those mini-series nominees are sad. ELIVS was a joke, and both THE 4400 and EMPIRE FALLS were watchable, but underwhelming. Haven't seen the PBS one...I'd vote for EMPIRE FALLS of the three I've seen if I had to pick one.

Meh. He was pretty good. Plus it isn't a question of being in a lot of eps. He wasn't even in a handful of episodes. His work seemed to be more of the guest appearance variety despite being in the opening credits. That spot should have gone to one of the tremendous supporting actors in The Shield or Deadwood.
I think the only deserving nominee from WW would have been Bradley Whitford.
