I'm predicting that Deanna's performance tonight will be like the Hindenburg disaster: a lot of fire but it will still crash and burn.

Jordis looks excited with her song choice. My money would be on her getting the encore if she likes Dream On as much as she says.
Well Suzie is cute but Patman reminded me of why I'm suspect of her. Marty looked really simple that episode too Really Jordis better do a good job Dream On--it's a no-brainer she really shouldn't miss...

I'm looking forward to it for all the wrong reasons.

Spoiler:
woah, jordis in the bottom 3

Jordis did horrible, but in her defense, no one on that stage can hit that note. I actually liked Deanna's song over Migs, but she should go this week.

I missed JD. Was he any good?

Whoops. I don't know, I really didn't like much tonight. I would've liked to see Mig do some of the other songs - Dream On, Start Me Up, I Alone.

Jordis was bad.

Marty just yells and doesn't have the voice he "looks" like he'd have.

Ty did a decent job, but got a song that I think was just right for him.

JD thinks he's good, which I guess is the right mindset to have in a competition like this, but still, damn, in the 3 or 4 weeks I've watched this show, he's done absolutely nothing to impress me.

The others, just "meh."

I think Ty and Mig are the only ones who did good at all this week. Mig's song wasn't as good as I'd have liked though.

Hmm...

Attention-grabbing:

Marty - continues to perform the song, and to not let the song perform him (Jordis, take some notes, honey). His vocals will not ever sound as melodic as INXS wants out of a lead singer, so I don't think he'll be picked the winner, but he'll get picked up by another band somewhere.

Ty - rocked the house, came up with a well-polished production, which should help in the contest as to showmanship aspect, but I don't think INXS wants to be as "soulful" as Ty is gearing up to be.

Deanna - passionate pouring out of her heart, and did better than MiG in the "original" song category, but I doubt that song would find airplay on the radio waves. Good performance for her, though. She will probably still choke on the ballads, though, because she's a wailer and probably won't be able to impart enough nuance to rein it in and perform small, intimate songs.

So-so:

JD - okay, up-tempo performance, but I think he's too divisive (as in the girls might love him, but I doubt guys respect him all that much in his performances).

Bottom 3:

Jordis - I almost didn't recognize the song because she just emasculated the song, and turned it into a Coca-Cola jingle at times. She just flat-out stunk up the joint tonight.

Suzie - I tuned out of her performance, it just sounded too one-note to me, and it just seemed desperate - the congregating with the rest of the contestants and falling into the crowd.

MiG - that sounded like a Bon Jovi song, but with less melodies and less of a hook. He reminds me of Michael Jackson in looks at times (but with the shorter haircut).

I missed all but the last twenty seconds of Suzie, so I can't remark about her.

JD - Personality-wise he's actually starting to grow on me as the "game" gets more serious, and I finally appreciate that he always attempts to do something creative, even when it's awful and a complete failure. But nothing will change the fact that I HATE his voice. It's just dull.

Marty - A decent job, but I'm still not sure how the scowl will play with an upbeat INXS song.

Deanna - I actually thought she was really good tonight. The original song thing worked in her favor, since it didn't come off as a second-rate version of something else like many of the performances do.

Ty - Gimmicky performance. Not terrible, but I remember the setup more than Ty himself.

MiG - Terrible choice. I actually liked the music, but I kept thinking "This would be great without the singing/lyrics", which is the absolute worst reaction he could've got. It sort of reminded me of some C-level hair band and the lyrics were sooo generic and terrible.

Jordis - Pretty much awful. I was an early fan, but at this point I wouldn't be upset to see her gone tomorrow.

I think the top 3 from last week should be the bottom 3 this week, so I'm hoping we'll finally get to see Marty, Mig, or Jordis do an INXS song. I thought everyone up til Marty did a good job. I Alone was a really good fit for Marty on paper, but he took it the wrong direction. It's already an intense song, and him being Mr. Intensity, he took it further than he should've.

I thought Jordis was going to make a comeback. She was excited about the song and they put her last, which usually has been a good spot. Up until now I thought they chose whoever they thought had the best rehearsal to go last.

I didn't really like Mig's song. I agree with Patman about it sounding like Bon Jovi, but I was thinking more along the lines of the lesser butt rocker bands, like maybe Cinderella.

I thought Deanna did a great job. It didn't fit INXS at all, but I'd give her the encore. In as little time as they wrote that song, I was really impressed. I don't really know who would deserve it more. I liked Suzie, Ty, and JD's performances, but I don't think any one of them was clearly better than the other. The band really liked Ty this week, so he might get it.

Start Me Up just kinda is that way. I was surprised that she seemed happy with that choice. I love the Stones, but they do way too many of their songs on this show.

My thoughts:

Jordis - definitely should be bottom three this week. Aside from not hitting the note, the rest of the song was pretty generic.

Marty - there is no way he will ever front the band, INXS. I could see him leading Creed. Not INXS. It's not that he isn't a good singer (well maybe it is), but he is more of a yeller than a singer. He would fit in with a hard rock band.

JD - Not a fan of this song or him, and put them together - still nothing. I enjoyed his performance last week, but this week was pretty flat in my opinion.

Ty - Not a Ty fan either, but I really liked his take on the song, especially after he kicked up the energy. Loved having the girls doing backup.

Mig - Not a great song, but he sang it well.

Deanna - Her song was better than Mig's, and it suited her well. She did a great job singing it, but doing so, I think that it basically confirmed that she would not be a good fit for the band, INXS.

Suzy - She did a really good job on Start Me Up. Hopefully she won't be bottom three this week. She and Ty were probably the highlights.

Bottom three:

Jordis
Ty
Marty

I wish Suzie had sung the line "You make a dead man come." That would have earned her endless points.

If J.D. had the personality of MiG, he would be the obvious favorite right now. He keeps having good performances which the band recognizes but the fans do not. (Just by what's been said in this thread). I haven't really given him his due but he probably is the best fit for their band, INXS. I'll have to be honest with myself and say that he had the best performance last night.

MIG's ugly ass pants have now replaced Ty's ugly ass shorts as the worst outfit to date on the show.

While I think JD is the best choice, I think he can write better and is a better performer than Mig, but I got a serious Lounge singer vibe from his performance last night.

mig is a good singer, but his performance antics up on stage looked VERY forced.

Where to start. Jordis of course, that was heinous. I'm actually stunned that she couldn't find that song's inherent creepiness. I don't think that note was that hard to get--although hamming it up with Ty and the girls could have been distracting. Ok, that was an excuse, she was ass bad.

Ty was good, when he's on he's got some great control. And yeah I want to see MiG in the bottom three so he can sing some INXS too, hey why not...

What was up with Marty? I think the only thing that will make him happy is singing at Dave Navarro's funeral.

That was horrendous looking and whatever that crotch thing was, it was the equivalent of Deanna trying to distract us by showing cleavage.

MiG's my favorite, but nothing about that performance or song was very good. I'm finding Suzie and Ty getting on my nerves recently. And while I like Marty, I cannot imagine watching an entire concert of screaming angst.

My UN-favorite Jordis continues to underwhelm. I couldn't imagine her doing "Dream On" beforehand, and that was AWFUL -- not just the notes she didn't hit (many besides the crucial one she was worried about), but the entire tone of the song -- WHAT ARE YOU SMILING AT?!?!?!?!?

J.D.'s performance was the ONLY one I cared to replay at the end of the show. I did think Deanna was VERY good as well, though she doesn't have the core fan backing needed.

My personal bottom 3 would be: Jordis, Ty and MiG

yes. forgot to mention... Jordis was bad. just not good at all.

JD actually bores me.

i worry that marty will pop a few blood vessels with all the screaming.

deanna was doing some strange body undulations up there on stage.

I had a hard time not laughing at Marty's intensity, which made me feel bad because I like him. His black painted toe nails were hilarious but sort of gross, too.

Mig's outfit was butt-ugly. JD looked like he was trying too hard with that jacket and no shirt underneath.

I'm talking about the outfits because nobody sang all that great. Jordis was the most painfully bad, though, and hasn't been good in almost a month.

I closed my eyes for a bit while JD was singing to see if I could try and get his gawd awful personality out of the picture. He doesn't suck, but he's also not that good... boring singer. The only good thing I can say about him is that he's done some interesting arrangements over the season, but overall he's just a cheese merchant. I wish he'd go tonight even though others performed worse.

Suzie is probably the only singer on this show that has improved drastically. Jordis is dropping like a rocket.

I think this competition is between Mig and Ty even though that Mig original was pretty icky.

Mig's song and outfit both screamed Hard to Hold-era Rick Springfield, namely the god-awful "Love Somebody" video. Mig, you picked the wrong 80's Australian icon to mimic.

What was with that nasty-looking Brooke Burke cleavage? It looked like you could see the breast augmentation scars or something, it was all stretched-out.

Marty-- well, now I know what a Live cover band would sound like. He did a cover of one of the most generic bands ever and added nothing to it. I did like his version better than Live's but that ain't saying much.

Jordis was painfully bad. I have new-found respect for Steven Tyler after that.

Ty-- liked him putting together his own Ikettes. My husband looked at those 3 singing on stage together and said "Get used to that spot." Ha!

Deanna's song was surprisingly good. But I guess a vote for Deanna is a vote for Ty. he definitely redeemed himself for "Stop/Go!"

Suzie-- better than usual. Still nothing stellar. Same with JD.

Brooke is probably just too skinny at the moment, which made her fake boobs look strange last night.

I don't think I can take watching MiG cry, he looks so lost when he cries.
