NBC's "Saturday Night Live" will close out its 30th season on May 21 with Lindsay Lohan as host and Coldplay as the musical guest.
It will be Lohan's second appearance as host, the network said Wednesday.
Coldplay, also making its second appearance on "SNL," will perform songs from its upcoming album, "X & Y," scheduled for release next month.
Lohan, 18, co-starred with "SNL" Weekend Update co-anchor Tina Fey in the comedy "Mean Girls." Her upcoming films include "Herbie: Fully Loaded," with Breckin Meyer and Matt Dillon, which will be in theaters June 22.

I guess it's too much to hope for some before/after jokes on the show: "This is Lindsay Lohan. This is Lindsay Lohan on drugs. Any questions?"

Great to hear that Coldplay will be the musical guest. They are one of my favorite bands and they sound awesome live.

Feh, she wasn't that great a host when she was on last season, although the show itself was pretty good. Lohan is not nearly good enough to host every season, like Alec Baldwin. If this is the direction SNL wants to go, are there no other untalented cokewhores left in Hollywood? She should be the target of skits, not a participant.

Now, I don't mean to be rude here, but why is this news?
We've known about this for weeks upon weeks now...

Herbie's not her dealer. This will not be as good as it once was with the harry potter bit. Oooh well.

"Hi, I'm Lindsay Lohan, Ms. Teen Queen #1, and I'm playing out my low self-esteem and family emotional baggage in front of all of America. Thank you and please don't offer me any intervention sandwiches."

The Harry Potter skit and the messed up Debbie Downer clips were good stuff. Always good to see that rerun on E!

I will only watch it to see Coldplay perform.

kind of interesting in that Coldplay will have to hightail themselves out of Baltimore that night after their evening gig at the HFS'tival to then play on SNL.

I'd think that Will Ferrell hosting this weekend would've been more exciting news, even it's own thread. Why didn't they have him do the finale?

That's funny Y2K!
