Fuck HBO.
I dont watch much TV, just Deadwood and Sopranos on HBO, but now with no Carnivale it seems pointless to have HBO
I really should cancel but I like watching movies in HD one in awhile. I just saw Jimmy Hollywood for the first time the other day and it was pretty good!

Well, there should be CYE coming out...they have filmed episodes, that is where they get that guy out of trouble with the law because he was on their tape at a baseball stadium, that was less than 16 months ago. So it's coming....looks like they want to spread the good stuff out cause they don't have a lot of it.

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that CYE was going to be back. I believe it was around the time they announced that Carnivale wouldn't be back.

But, yeah, back to Carnivale. The only reason I subscribed to HBO was for Carnivale, and they day after the cancellation announcement came out, I cancelled them back.

I tend not be too bothered when a television show I watch gets canceled; I'm not the sentimental type. 99 times out of 100, the show had run its course and deserves a mercy killing. But this was not the case for one show that I will genuinely miss. I was a massive, massive fan of HBO's "Carnivale." The first season was someone taxing, I'll admit, but the second season witnessed such a transformation and upgrade, I almost couldn't believe it. Every week, major events would unfold in the classic battle between good and evil, heaven and hell, the second coming and the son of Satan. And clearly I'm not the only one who felt this way.
I keep reading stories in television columns that HBO continues to get pounded with petitions and e-mails begging them to bring back this quality show. To drive home the point one more time with HBO, there will be a "Bring Back Carnivale" rally at Flashback Weekend on July 30, with several cast members in attendance and yours truly as emcee.
Let me run down the schedule of events: At 1:30, Tim DeKay (Jonesy) will take the stage for a Q&A. At 1:50, he will be joined by co-star Adrienne Barbeau for the official Bring Back Carnivale Rally. This will be followed by a separate Q&A with Ms. Barbeau (who will obviously be talking about more than just "Carnivale"). The rally will be filmed and sent to HBO as yet another example of how devoted the fan base is.
On Sunday, July 31, the full-on official "Carnivale" panel will happen with DeKay, Barbeau, and series guests Bill Moseley and Matt McGrory. At best, it will be a chance for fans to show their support and bring back a great show that was clearly getting better. At worst, it will be an opportunity to say good-bye to some of our favorite from the cast. See you there, and let's shake some dust, children!

Anyway to find out how that rally went?
Man Id be happy with anything close to a return. A movie where they deal with Sophie; anything. Even a half season or something. I mean it cant be as expensive as the first as they have everything made for the damn show. Just gotta shoot somewhere.

I believe Knauf doesn't want a movie - he thinks it won't make a justice to series. I think he said that series could run for either three or six years, I suppose they already went with six seasons variation. Correct me if I am wrong.

Considering Knauf has a Showtime series in development, I can't see how Carnivale could return, unless they bring it back without him. But considering his deep involvement with the show, what would be the point of a Knauf-less continuation?

If they bring this back, they get my money . Its as simple as that. I still don't know why HBO ditched this. 2006 could be a Huge year for them with:
1) Sopranos
2) Carnivale-If it returns
3) Rome-looks pretty good
4) Deadwood
That's an extremly impressive lineup. Please God, bring this series back.
