Grave Danger?
[Nicholson]Is there another kind?[/Nicholson]
Watched this episode today, and enjoyed it. I respect Tarantino so it was fun to watch his direction on a TV series I'm familiar with.

I've been falling out of touch with CSI but this was a nice, fun episode. I loved the random dialogue and nonsensical chatter. Also enjoyed Grissom saving the day... would have been great if he yelled "There's no time!"

It was certainly an entertaining 2 hours of television, but I wouldn't even remotely go so far as to say it was the best 2 hours of television this season.
The acting was pretty laughable in a lot of those early scenes, especially from Warrick. I can't remember this show being that bad before this. Buried alive in a grave has been done time and again, so even though it was done well, it just felt too familiar throughout. It also suffered from the usual CSI "isn't that convenient?"
Great to see Gorshin one more time and I hope QT finds other TV projects to try his hand at.

It depends on the police department. Some (like OKC) have cops that go to the scene and do the collection, then take everything back to the labs and have non-police lab techs do all the test. Most labs are set up with each person/department handling a specific aspect - ie a lab DNA, fingerprints, ballistics, etc - and you will never see a CSI, even if they are a cop, question a suspect. To be a lab tech you will need to have your MLT(AAB) which usually is a Chemistry or related BS or higher, and you will find a lot labs require advanced degrees due to competition for positions.
