This show didn't have a shot from the beginning really. We can blame the "dumbing down" of America for that. Most people need a cookie cutter sitcom with the same scenario that they've seen a million times. They need a laugh track or it just doesn't seem like comedy to them. They aren't quite sure when to laugh. It's the reason that Scrubs or AD will never get the love that Friends did.

This show has won me over with Health Care. Steve Carrell is hit and miss still, being too caricature-y, but he was so funny with the ice cream sandwich bit, especially him eating all of them in his office.

I'll buy this series when it's all released on DVD. I just hope it's multiple season box sets, not (as it appears it may well be) a two disc "Complete Series" release.

I have 2 questions for those of you that don't like the show: Have you ever worked in an office and have you ever had a boss that thought he was everybody's best friend even though he wasn't?
This was the funniest episode yet. The whole office vs. work space thing reminded me of when I worked at a place where the office was re-modeled and we all got new cubicles. The only problem was that we were told that the new cubicles were not to be called "cubicles" and should be referred to as "Productivity Furniture". This of course inspired us to come up with our own euphemisms. The best of which were "Work Chamber" and "Slave Station"
The disease list had me rolling too..
ebola
mad cow disease
spontaneous dentohydroplosion
leprosy
flesh eating bacteria
hot dog fingers
government created killer nano-robot infection
count choculitis "You wrote that because I like I Count Chocula didn't you?" "you do?"
inverted penis
anal fissures "that's real". "yes but no one here has it". (meekly)"someone does."

The moment when Carrel threw the ice cream sandwich and it flew over the black guys head and hit the wall. I had to back that one up and watch it three times. hilarious. And then the extended drum rool at the end and Carrel standing there with an idiot look on his face while everyone slowly files out. This show, while without some problems, has definite promise for me. It's quirky enough to hold my interest despite the fact that the characters don't always work. I hope it lasts long enough to find its stride.
