Okay, here's my rundown from best to worst:

Grade A:
Vonzell - hit it out of the park tonight, wow, when she got through the big notes in the middle of the song, it was like an ice skater landing her first couple of triple axels, she got on a roll.
Carrie - either she's mic'd too low, or has to warm up her voice to get into the song. The weird thing is that I don't think she's do as well on Nashville Star as a sole country vocalist, oddly enough.

Grade B:
Anthony - I liked this ending flourish, but I've figured out what bothers me about his singing: he sings like English is his second language (which it is), and the arrangement in his songs shows this in his performances, but still, one of the better singing male voices left on the show, especially its timbre. Simon, I think, is purposefully trying to nuke his chances, I think he might be going home tomorrow.
Nadia - gets the most out of her limited vocals, but looks so comfortable performing the uptempo songs well.

Grade C:
Anwar - horrible start, very sharp and uncontrolled in the beginning, but always winds up with a big finish.
Jessica - unremarkable performance of an unremarkable song.
Bo - it took me a while before I even realized this is the same song that was used in the commercials for "Tilt" last month, the hat was a horrible accessory, and he doesn't need to be singing on the judges table. First mis-step of the competition, but it won't send him home.
Scott - he sings like he's a little out of breath, or is stuffed up with a cold.
Nikko - still his cat-scratch fever of a voice just unnerves me, so I rarely enjoy his performances, and this was no exception.

Grade D:
Constantine - the guy still can't carry a note longer than 4 seconds, didn't care for the smarmy performance. Can't believe the judges bought his 'act'. Blechh!

Anyone hear Paula daring Simon to get up and sing? Maybe this is why she gushes over everyone else... She's petrified of someone challenging her to do the same...

I voted for Trach-boy this time around... he's gotten worse and worse with each passing week.

But I wouldn't be suprised if Scott the boot this week.

... I also need to echo what Patman said and vocalize my distaste for Constantine.

EXACTLY what I was thinking! And she tried so hard to fit in the smile while singing the end of the last note! (Vonzell's probably my favorite of the remaining girls, though.)

I had thought that it was a slam dunk that a guy would win this edition but I think Carrie is the strongest right now in terms of vocals and fan support and judge pimping (well Simon)

Bo - boring to me. can he mention his band one more time? Sounds like he sang these songs over and over again in every bars/clubs all across Alabama. In the nineties, he was what, 20 years old? Wouldn't bother me to see him leave.

Jessica - why did she talk about going to a Dixie Chicks Concert and then proceed to do a LeAnne Rimes's song?
I don't even remember her performance except that I saw some double chin action.

Anwar - started off completely out of tune and shakey with a pained/taking a sh*t look on his face. Finished strong with his runs but we know the routine. He should go but probably won't.

Nadia - I like the song. I think she sang really well. She likes to do this " sly" sideways glance while she sings. -10 points though for the Mario comment last week.

Constatine - Talks about growing up and loving grunge music and then he sings that? I Can't Make You Love Me is a SAD song and he mugging to the camera and smiling - smug is the word. I was not surprised to find out he
was on elimidate - blah!!!

Niko - finally Ozzie Sr. gets some love. I never liked his singing style. I get it - you want a second chance - stop picking all the songs to tell us about that. I think he should be in the bottom three - here's hoping!

Anthony - I think he is trying too hard i.e. glasses off, every glory note, almost shouting. Simon really doesn't like this kid. Too bad because I think he can sing and he appears to be a nice kid.

Carrie: I think she has good range from last week's amazing song to this week which was more subdued. She is probably the front runner as she fits the pop/country hybrid genre that can attract a lot of votes.

Scott- I thought he sang out of tune to start. The shirt was hideous and he should be in the bottom three.

Vonzell - She reminds of a MUCH better looking Brandy or William sister. Anyway, i liked her performance, she looked very nice and I think she is getting stronger each week

Who I want to be:
bottom three - Anwar/Scott, Constantine, Nikko
Who should go home - Constantine

Who will be in the bottom three: Anthony, Scott, Nadia
with Anthony (hopefully not) going home.

I don't get where people are getting this impression. Scott is getting the sympathetic underdog vote big time. Has he been in the bottom 3 at some point that I've forgotten? Scott and Constantine barely had the vocal chops to get into the final 12. They had some bad moments early on, and I'd say those two are the most improved. That being said, Constantine's camera whoring was sickening. He'll make a good lounge singer someday.

Bo - Probably still safe, but bad song choice for the show.

Jessica - No big notes and going early in the show probably puts her at a slight risk. She's more at risk for her looks than Scott is. Her double chin gets no sympathy.

Anwar - The first half was probably his worst performance, but like Randy said, he probably saved himself at the end.

Nadia - She rocked and picked a song everyone knows. She's definitely safe.

Constantine - Safe because that's the best singing performance he's had.

Nikko - Definitely safe. I hate oversung modern R&B ballads, but it still takes talent to pull it off and it's a popular genre.

Anthony - Lose him now. He is all corn. He earned his way into the final 12, but at this point he is clearly the one who doesn't belong on that stage.

Carrie - She can probably coast to the final 3 just based on last week. I went ahead and fast forwarded through her song since I don't like pop-country.

Scott - Safe. I was waiting for him to fall apart. That had to be the toughest song of the night and he pulled it off.

Vonzell - Safe. Doing Whitney well basically gets you an automatic pass to the next round this early on. That's so what

Anthony didn't sound bad to me (not that he sounded particularly good) but I didn't really know the original song. My wife said he butchered it. Anwar actually seemed to be the worst to me last night. I couldn't believe how out of tune he was. Hopefully he makes it and improves next week. Here's hoping Anthony is gone.

Hey, shouldn't they be having the guest judges by now? Or did they scrap that idea?
I thought Nikko did an okay imitation of the Tevin Campbell song.

They moved the celebrities judges part to the auditions instead of the final 12 of the competition.

I can see how he might get votes from the preteen and teen female votes but he is in no way deserving to be in the final 3 and even worst to win this competition.

[QUOTE=gettinbranded]Bo did Remedy from the Black Crows.

My only question: How did he go this long without being signed? My coworkers son and his band were just signed to a contract...and I think Bo's got him beat by a mile.
QUOTE]

My wife and I were talking about this too because he talks about how he's been doing it for years. My guess is that the rules either state that you, as a solo artist, can never have had a contract (meaning, his band could, but he personally didn't) OR the rule is that you can't CURRENTLY be under contract, but you can have one in the past. I don't know enough about the show/rules to know for sure.

one thing that helps anthony is the comparisons to clay
well, the fact is, he doesnt have half the talent or a fraction of the range that clay has
i think his crappy vocals are being overlooked, because of either his image or possible potential.. But he hasnt done anything to deserve to go this far and after last night, he should be the one to go.

btw.. i dont care what the judges said lastnight.. constantine still sucks ass
i think the easiest way to define him, would be fake. he doesnt have the vocals, and Im surprised his image would get him enough votes to stay.. but he is still there

Although I did like how Randy finally started to catch on.. pointing out that constantine might be a art guy or some shit like that, but he definitly isnt a rocker!

My choice for the bottom three is: Jessica, Anwar, and Anthony
My choice for elimination is: Anthony

I personally don't see all the hate for Scott. I think he has done an excellent job thus far. Granted he is not better than some of the others but my prediction is he will make it to at least the bottom five. He is consistant. I think Anthony will leave this week and hopefully Anwar will split next week as he just seems like his whole performance is fake to me. Bo may be good to some but I think he will bow down to Carrie as she will win the whole thing. She is good and has "IT"...As Simon said.

Personally, I thought Scott performace was the worst last night and that's including Constantine performance. He didn't had the vocal range to pull off the Brian McKnight song and in regards to Paula's comment about his performance, I think she's heavily medicated.

I like all kinds of music. Scott's rendition of "One Last Cry" made my ears bleed.

I'm so underwhelmed this season. There isn't anyone that I'm completely in love with.

Carrie and Vonzell were good this week.

I have a toothachce can someone get me what Paula is on, it must be some good stuff for her to love Anwar's performance.

I'm sorry but I do not see the love for Bo. I personally know 5 lead singers in bands in just Columbus, Ohio that can sing as good as him. All lead singers have a few songs that they just sing perfectly. The only thing he has over the other contestants is the fact that he has performed in front of an audience for 10+ years. He's very comfortable on stage. The same goes for Constantine. There is a reason that neither Bo or Constantine have a contract for their bands.

Yes - Babyface wrote (and produced) "Can We Talk". I brought it up because the '90s were HUGE for Babyface as a writer and producer (not even counting his solo vocal work). Knowing Nikko's flare for R&B ballads, I figured a Babyface song was right up his alley. Problem is, he's pigeon-holing himself as a mediocre R&B balladeer and not taking any chances.

I'm going to have to disagree with this one. Bo Bice has real talent. He's not just comfortable in front of an audience. His voice is fantastic, and his personality seems great, as well. Constantine, on the other hand, has a thin voice, a faux-rocker veneer that comes off as embarrassing, and it looks like his old band played really bad metal. World of difference between the two.

I wonder what they would do with Bo if he won. Are they going to give him a band but act like the band doesn't exist like they do with other pop stars?

my wife read that the producers were upset with paula during the audition taping due to her problem with pain killers. it's pretty apparent she has been on them for every show, and it also gives a good reason for not stopping when she tagged that car.
