I was very impressed by the Star Wars trailer...Lucas kept promising us Episode III would be the darkest of them all, and it looks like the movie will deliver. Seeing the pain in Obi-Wan when he told Anakin "You were the chosen one!" was pretty moving. I haven't been a big fan of the other prequels, but I'm really looking forward to this one.

Tonight was the first time I was able to see the show in HD - some of it looked good, some of it didn't. I almost lost the feed a few times towards the end due to the damn weather interrupting my signal.

This episode could have been better, but damn the cameraman was teasing us with Marisa not wearing a bra with her slinky top.
Who knew Julie Cooper was such a trooper in her younger days...

On the internet, it's common for people to trash something they've never seen. Having just finished sitting through this show for the first [and only] time, I can now honestly say...

The lead in to the trailer was great.
That said, it seemed like the ads and other trailers (Sin City) aired during O.C. tonight were aimed at a geekier audience than what typically watches...

with the huge opportunity to gain new viewers they had, they completely blew it with this episode....terrible. if it had been shown on the episode 2 weeks ago they possibly could have gained some repeat viewers.

Not really. The last episode was quite good - for O.C. fans. Given that it tied up a lot of storylines (that non-fans would not be familiar with), I don't see it as a way to latch on to new viewers.

Missed this episode tonight but I'm currently downloading it.... Since I obviously won't be able to see scenes from next weeks episode, can someone summarize them for me?

FFW'd right through star wars trailer. I want to be completely surprised by the movie. Probably how surprised I was for 1 and 2. "Holy crap this movie looks awesome, holy crap this movie is crap."

I just gotta say that this was BY FAR the worst episode I have ever seen. Perhaps "ironic" is the best word to describe that their audience tonight was probably huge due to the premiere of you-know-what. And these first-time viewers got this shit.
Although I am tempted to say the preview for next week looks a bit promising, if the show doesn't turn around soon in a serious way I may stop watching. They are just doing character intros and drops with no clear direction, and playing romance musical-chairs with no consequence. I was actually disappointed to see Summer take Seth back and I cannot believe Marissa would even consider getting back with Ryan.
Alex, kick his ass.

Yeah, it really wasn't a good episode. I don't really like this season. Didn't really like it after Anna left. Most shows usually have a good season or 2 and hit their peak. I don't think The O.C. really knew what it was doing after they got all the hype playing the summer before last against nothing.

This season hasn't been the greatest. Season One was a classic. I think Schwartz tapped out last year with 27 episodes. It would also be hard to duplicate that but it doesn't seem like they are trying this year. On last night's episode I liked the interaction between Caleb and Sandy and playing hockey in the mall. The main problem with the show in my opinion is that they are running characters in and out like cattle at a stock sale. They should have guaranteed Chris Carmack some screen time like they do the other actors so he would be back this season. I haven't really liked any of the characters they have brought in this season. Lindsay and Alex were hot but that was about it. I wanna see some punches thrown at posh parties. I think they need to bring Luke, Jimmy, and Hailey back as regulars. They really have a small cast of characters for an hour long drama now that they have written or are writing a few of their newly introduced characters off.

Last night's ep was average, but this whole sex scandal thing with Julie could be pretty sweet. And it seems like Alex's exit from the show is coming soon, as the Marissa/Ryan thing heats up, she'll most likely bail.
If Ryan was smart, he'd work the 3-way angle.

I didnt think it was too bad of an episode. Looks like Alex is on her way out too just like the other young people they brought on this season. It seems they were brought on to mix things up and then disposed of but who knows...
Like the scene between Julie and Alex. She pretty much told it like it is.
I think the whole, I want money scheme is a tired soap cliche but it looks like they are resorting to those a lot more lately.

In 2 seasons theyve gone throught Luke Anna and Oliver from season 1, and it looks like Haley, Jimmy, Alex, Zack, and Linday. As has been stated, more permanent characters are a must. Especially since Luke, Jimmy, and Anna > Julie, Summer, and Marissa anyway. Yeah I said it. What now?
