Now that makes more sense.

I really cannot believe that with all the anagram speculation and the endless internet discussion about the connections people had in the past, that the brilliant writers now threw in a magical number sequence into the mix.

Perfect

Why would anyone want to get on Michael's boat? There are only two things that can happen - you die at sea or you get rescued. And if anyone gets rescued, they'll tell everyone about the island and the other people there.

So the best move is to just chill on the island and let other risk their lives.

Holy crap! The portal is a large computer built by a race from another dimension.

Are there any fiords on the island?

Yeah, if you can direct them to the island. That would probably be very difficult.

If everyone thought that way, there would be no rescue

Or maybe I'm just looking too far into it heh.

I think it was definately a Curb Your Enthusiasm reference. That's two great nods to two of my favorite shows (this and "The Office" one a few weeks back).

Ah, I'd bet if you hit up the media with your story, we'd search for the island until it's found.

Let the stupid people risk their lives!

Actually, on the Frenchwoman's map, there did seem to be a lot of lovely crinkly edges.

I loved it when Hurley was being arrested, he goes to his mom "So you don't believe in curses mom?". Classic.

An interesting tidbit my friend told me:

The game Connect Four has exactly 42 spaces.

Good point. Those numbers were quite visible at the end so I can't imagine that Boone/Locke didn't see them, unless they only concentrated on the hatch itself. Also, it seemed they were inscribed off the ledge so it might have been difficult to see them. The numbers didn't even seem to be covered by anything, perhaps Boone/Locke dug that side out? It appears they cleaned up the entire area around the hatch.

My sister had a fun theory... which got me to thinking (should I spoilerize this, its really crazy)

Spoiler:
It's a UFO. Then I remembered ABC recently had that UFO special... is it all tied in?

Probably not, but who knows with this show.

I am leaning towards Charlie, because I think that it might have to do something with her baby. I think that she will end up having to choose between saving Charlie and her baby, and she picks the baby

This is a good theory but..

Spoiler:
The show creator has already ruled out charlie that dies, as does several pundits have also ruled out charlie as the death.

They could be vindictive bastards and not tell anyone else about the island. heh

Why would an alien craft (I assume that is what you mean by UFO) use our numbers/writing?

What was the room number of the hotel Jack's dad was staying in? I think I saw other room numbers to an apartment or something for another character. No clue what it was now though.

Interesting that Hurley is another character with a father "issue" (where was he and what happened to him?).

Even if Locke and Boone saw the numbers on the hatch, they probably didn't see the numbers written on the French woman's stuff that Sayid had, since no one seems to share things on the island.

Maybe it's just a serial number?

Really? I never knew that.

Spoiler:
So was there anyone else ruled out? The only thing that I knew was that it was narrowed down to a man. I really really really hope it is not Locke. To me, he is by far the most intriguing character

Was it ever mentioned in Boone's flashback episode that he once owned a box company? Somebody made that point to me today but I don't remember that. Supposedly it was said in passing as he walked off the tennis court.
