Next weeks its the Korean couple (#17; emphasis on the husband Jin), then its Hurley's (#18), then a month's wait and we get episodes centered on Locke (#19), then Jack (#20), then Sayid (#21).
Another quote, this one from Jack's Dad: "You know why they call it 'down under?' Because it's closest to hell without getting burned."

How could Sawyer be so sure that he did meet Jack's dad when Jack told him that his father is dead - which from Sawyer's perspective doesn't sound like: "My dad just died in Sydney and I was leaving there with his body on our plane"?
It seems to me like the fact that Jack's dad died there (and that was the purpose of Jack's presence on the flight) will have to be made known to Sawyer, and then he will know that his original suspicion is right and he did meet him.

Now, I think we can assume since he had forgotten his wallet, and was bumming free booze off Sawyer, that his last drinks were essentially the dagger that did him in--courtesy of Sawyer. So, if nothing else major happened, and his death was a result of his severe inebriation, then one could see how Sawyer "killed" Jack's father.

Yeah, that's what I was just about to post: Jack's dad's wallet was in his room, and in the bar he was saying he'd forgotten his wallet. IIRC, the police or coroner said Jack's Dad's body had been found in some seedy back alley, that he'd drunk himself to death. I'm assuming the speculation about Sawyer killing Jack's Dad came from the bottle of booze Sawyer bought for them both, but I agree that doesn't necessarily mean that was the bottle that killed him... interesting considering Sawyer being in Boone's flashback, in the police station saying "I was just giving him his bottle back".

I believe he said to her at the end "It's just a boar."

I think in the last episode or two they mentioned being on the island for a month already. Also, the Lost diary is up to day 27.
