WOOOOOOOOO it's tonight!!!!

I haven't been this excited for the start of a season of any TV show in a long time.

Finished watching season 3 on Saturday. And this morning heard a promo for The Shield on the radio. Needless to say, I'm fucking stoked!

but why do they need a high profile name like Glenn Close? it almost kills it for me. they did so well with hardly anybody, i don't understand this turn. it isn't like they were hurting for any ratings or needed the star wattage. she better be damned good or it's gonna be a short season!

lol ..I thought the same thing (I *NEVER* watch anything on TV unless there's a conflict, I replaytv everything I want to watch, then have a tv-a-thon Fri/Sat/Sunday) ..until I realized The Shield will be replayed 4 or 5 times, so I have Blind Justice at it's timeslot, then The Shield for it's second replay..I think I watch too much TV ..then again I'm sure Blind Justice will only last a few episodes..it seems more like something that would better suit the PAX network..or Lifetime...

Just watch it and you'll realize that she adds a lot to the story and leads the show to a new and much needed road. The tension with the old cast was already built to high that any more and it would be over exposed.

Glenn Close really does a great job on the show.

Yup. I like her. Great actress. Although, she was at her (psycho) hottest in Fatal Attraction.

Seriously, I am so anxiously awaiting this season, it is rediculous. I wish F/X would produce some more TV. Between this, Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me, I've liked everything they have put out, quite a bit.

No clue, I wasn't even aware that F/X was working on other shows. That is good news. I will have to try to look for some more info.

"FX has greenlighted two drama series, Steven Bochco's war saga "Over There" and the crime hour "Thief," starring Andre Braugher. The network originally intended to pick one of the two for its primetime schedule, which already is well stocked with such strong dramas as "The Shield" and "Rescue Me," but decided to go with both. "Over There" will go first, with the premiere scheduled for July, while "Thief" is slated for early next year. "I cannot begin to describe the joy all of us at FX feel right now with the pickup of what we believe are two extraordinary programs," FX entertainment president John Landgraf said in a statement. FX will keep production on both series within the News Corp. family: "Over There" is being produced by Steven Bochco Prods. with 20th Century Fox Television, and "Thief" is being produced by Fox Television Studios, Regency Television and Pariah Pictures."
Looks like a longer wait for Thief.

Andre Braugher

At first I was skeptical about Glenn Close joining the cast of The Shield, but after this first ep, I'm beginning to change my mind.

Did you catch the ad for the new series "Over There"? Looks like it could be good, I'm assuming it's timed to start about the time that The Shield ends, kind of like how "Lucky" started, and mercifully looks like it's gone, after The Shield last year (or was that two years ago?)

Loved the last scene with Vic and Shane. The tension was great.

I'm loving the way this season is shaping up already. I had completely forgot some plotlines since it has been so long since season 3, but they started coming back to me as the episode went on. The cases got overturned because Claudette reported that the old DA was under the influence right?

I was waiting for Cletus the entire episode after seeing his name in the credits, and man has he taken an even darker turn. I can't wait to see them go head to head. It was all I could do to not watch the previews since I hate spoilers.

Yes. Last season we knew she had uncovered this and decided to make it known, but we didn't know the fate of all the cases. Now we do and this episode made the repercussions very evident.

I felt the same way about plot lines - I couldn't remember them all but they started to come back as the episode progressed. Does anyone remember how Julien's plot line ended last year? Wasn't his wife pregnant? Was he still struggling with identity issues?

Awesome tension.

What does Vic do....and in the background is Mara...so if anything happens to Shane....she'd probably step up to the plate and turn the rest of the old strike team in. This is gonna be a great season.

Vic's gotta watch his ass....as he's got Rawling keeping a very close eye on him right now.

I can not remember what happened to Julian and what did Assavada do to with his attackers? I thought he enlisted Vic's help in the final few episodes.

I thought it was a public defender that turned out to be under the influence? That brought up questions about whether she was adequately able to represent her clients. The DA being under the influence wouldn't really affect the defendant's rights too much.

I love this show, but I'm also a little irritated. The very first episode of the series ended with Vic acting so out of character compared to how he's been the rest of the series that it makes me feel like they were going for shock value to catch viewers.

The cell phone with pictures of Asaveda is still out there somewhere, isn't it?

Excellent scene w/Vic in the bar. "You tryin' to be an a*hole?" " No, I'm just lookin' at one." He knew he'd have to take the first punch, but after that he truly went to work on that guy. Same ol' Vic if you ask me.

Still no fan of Glenn Close (has she had major work done?), but the thing w/Acevedo has somewhat played itself out.

SO glad this show is back, because it is one of the best out there...

Man, I'm glad this is back. If they can come close to how good some of the stuff last year was, especially Dutch's parts w/ the cuddler sex offender, this is going to be a great season.
