The girls are sort of cute, and I think Pacey's character is pretty glib and funny at time. Dawson, the lead character doesn't do much for me, too much of a saint.

I watched the first season because the writing was great and the characters were rich. Second season I watched because I enjoyed the first season so much. Third season I watched because I knew it had to get better, regardless of the way it was going. This season I haven't watched at all--between Ed and Enterprise, too much vying for my time.

Because Dawson is dreamy.

I started watching it because my wife watched it. I would make fun of it. I thought a good drinking game would be to take a drink whenever someone says something a high school kid would never say. If Dawson said it, you would have to chug the whole drink. At some point I ended up enjoying the show. I like shows that are familiar. I liked the Wonder Years because he was a year behind me in school and I could relate to what was going on.

I was actually tricked into thinking that Pacey was actually going to go on his fantastic voyage (slide, slide, slippity slide
) and that he would be off the show for a couple weeks.
I wonder where he's going to live now? I wonder if he'll go back to work at the restaurant? I really like the idea of him and Audrey hooking up.
Geez, those frat guys are bending over backwards (better than bending over forwards
) for Jack. I find it hard to believe that they would all be so accepting of his homosexuality. It'll only be a matter of time before he develops a crush on a fellow frat bro or one of his frat bros sees him kissing another guy and gets weirded out or something. I still don't think Jen and Dawson are good together. That was a good speech Dawson gave her, though....even though it didn't work cause he ended up going to the movies alone.

You wouldn't have to worry about being naked around him, or everyone sharing a common bathroom with him. The thing that struck me as odd was that he didn't know who had lived in that room. I would have thought that he would know who lived in each room in the house. My wife thinks the Eric guy is gay, and he doesn't want everyone finding out about it by him living with Jack. Jack's a good guy, that's why it's so easy for them to accept him.

If they did, I missed it. If he stays, it looked as if he would only stay if Eric roomed with him. Your wife's theory about Eric also crossed my mind...it would make for an interesting development later.I think Jack is cool, too. I just thought that the typical, college frat guys wouldn't be so accepting of a homosexual...much less a homosexual amongst themselves.

There are some things that I've noticed that have worried me a bit. I believe they are trying to portray themselves as being a diverse group of guys. I'm hoping they are doing this because they are open minded and not your "[stereo]typical" fraternity guys. What I've been afraid of is that they want "tokens" of diversity to use as a rush tool. From one of their meetings, I noticed that there was only one black guy. There is a chance that they pursued Jack because having a gay member would add to that image of diversity. I'm afraid because I expect a television show to go with more of the stereotypical view.
But I have hope that the show will take a different route. I'm hoping that all these hints that something bad will come of this is just for good TV, and that they do portray Jack's fraternity experience in a good light, since it's easier to take the stereotypical route.

This show has actually gotten interesting again. I loved the whole Dawson/Joey/Pacey triangle, then Pacey was SUCH a jerk I started to dislike the whole show. But now it's getting good again. I think the potential romance between Joey and her Professor is interesting, as it doesn't seem at all sleazy or power/harassment oriented. It actually rings pretty true, as there ARE women who are fairly mature for their age, and Joey is definitely one of them. And the professor isn't *that* much older than her (compared to some older man/younger woman romances) - maybe 10-15 years. This could seem really yucky, as Joey is barely legal, but actually doesn't in this particular case. They are intellectual equals, and that goes a long way.
As to Dawson and Jen, I loved Dawson's speech - I could use a guy like him!
I think they'll be really happy for a while, and that Dawson will help Jen heal when it comes to men, but that it won't last forever. But when they break up it won't be because of some horrible thing Dawson did (thus reaffirming Jen's faith in men and allowing her to find her "true" love) but rather because it's just right for it to end. It'll be mutual. I honestly think Joey and Dawson will eventually end up together - maybe years down the road, but eventually.
One last thing, and it's about the previous episode - can I just say how much I loved both Audrey and Joey getting up there and singing?!? That was so cute and funny. Plus they picked two of my favorite songs, so it was all good.
Preacher man...yay! And I really like this banter between Audrey and Pacey - this should prove to be a fun rest of the season on Dawson's Creek.

I finally watched my tape of this week's Dawson's Creek. I'm sort of amazed at how much "older" Pacey looks nowadays, looking at him, you'd think he was around 23 (closer to his "real age" probably with him being around "19" on the show. (Of course Dawson is looking rally old in the tooth for someone who's supposed to 18-19).
I'm not too crazy about Jen getting her own version of "Dr. Jen" in her freshman year at college at the radio station. Whatever happened with working your way up?
Joey and that Crispin Glover dude was a little creepy, especially when he admited to trying hard to look awkward in front of Joey. The upcoming fling with her lit teacher isn't something I'm looking forward to. It reminds me a bit of Karen Allen's role in Animal House.
I thought Jack came off like a whiney guy. I guess he'll learn that not every single person in a frat house is totally okay with bunking with a gay guy, and that's just life.
When is Dawson going to get out of his goody-goody phase?

Well that was an interesting turn of events. I wonder if the professor really has no wife. I feel sorry for the Elliot guy, I really think he'd be a good match for Joey. I was hoping we'd see some good Pacey/Audrey banter, I guess next week should help out in that department.
Now I'm going to turn my attention towards Jack. Boy was he a tool tonight. What a whiny little girl. He's on academic probation, even if he hadn't offered up the info, the fraternity would know. It's not all partying and hanging out, each semester the President should get a list of the semester GPA for each member. If enough people do bad enough, the chapter is put on academic probation. He seemed to take that a little too hard. I can't believe he even still thinks there's anything left for him there. I don't know what their rules are, but usually when you hit a brother in front of several witnesses, you're kicked out.
Looks like this Dawson film directing could be interesting next week.

It makes me so happy that this show is back on track. It's actually fun to watch again.
The Joey/Prof angle is even better now that he's not married (I hope). And it's a shame she doesn't feel anything for Elliot - he's definitely a great guy.
Looking forward to next week's episode.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. Still got some Audrey/Pacey moments. And I really think they should change the name of the show to Pacey's Creek cuz he's just the Man right now. Wonder what happens with Jack...

Another good show! This show has been getting better (finally) after a bad start to the season...
I was
when Jen gave Dawson the ET Trapper Keeper at the beginning of the episode...damn, they were super mushy (or at least she was). I can't remember who said so in last week's thread (or maybe the week before), but Jen is getting cuter. Maybe because her character is different...maybe she lost 5 pounds? I dunno.
I'm still not liking the Joey/Professor bit. I felt really bad for Elliot...and you could tell Joey felt kinda bad after she came back to her dorm to find the homemade construction paper card he made and the basket of get-well gifts. That's something the highschool and college me would have done.
Only goes to show....nice guys finish last.
Man, it'd be interesting if the Professor is lying about not being married...
I've been watching too much 24....there's a conspiracy behind everything!
Looks like we get some Pacey/Audrey action next episode.
Jack....geez, he's gone down the craphole huh (no pun intended)? He seemed so much more responsible than that (in high school). I guess it was only a matter of time before things fell apart with him and his frat brothers. Of course, I thought they'd do it a little differently...
