Well we know one thing for certain...
Spoiler:
Claire WILL not be the main character that dies

The dude says..the Baby needs you to raise him. And the only way claire dies is if the baby dies..but then if the baby dies..then the whole plot line was a waste of time

ETA: ahh crap sorry.. if the guy below me can edit his response that would be good.

I agree that Lockes' eyes in the dream were black and white. Shiny, rock-like black and white, like the bacjgammon pieces he showed polar bear boy way back when.

I'm a little worried that they are blowing their load. I mean, I expected to meet the 'French Woman" in season 3! What are they going to keep coming up with if this show lasts 2-3 more years? The Mosquitoes? TikiHeads?

I'm not understanding why Claire can't die. I hope she makes it, but I could see her dying in childbirth (maybe from having a C-Section in very bad conditions).

If Claire dies, it means she WON'T be raising the baby.

Interesting.

If she doesn't die during child birth, maybe the "monster" will eat her while she's pregnant and leave the baby behind.

With the psychic angle? Nah not really being we, with 20/20 hindsight are going over this and that line from the guy and sticking more meaning to them. He said NOTHING sep the same old generalizations you always hear psychics saying.. Sure he got a few broad things right but they could have been wide guess' too for all we really know..

We really have no idea if the guy was full of BS or crazy or just making it up etc etc.. We have NO idea what his end game really was or why he said what he was saying, no details were really given..

Now if he had said some real pin point info with people's names, how she will met a doc named Jack, some rocker, a fat guy and how a zombie t-rex, wait ok never mind the t-rex part would go after her and so on THEN it might be the show looking to show he really had some psychic powers, breaking the whole "Everything is scientifically possible" theme.. As it stands now we had a guy who clamed to be a psychic, guessed a few ball park thing about a girl and then said "Go do this...".

Just because we sit here thinking he might of had some insight does not show he did..

Over all, great ep this time..

I loved when Charlie was trying to count off Claire's contractions: "One...sugarplum fairy....two..." I think I'll use that from now on and irritate people.
I think he's the guy that plays the jealous husband in the movie "In the Bedroom."

In any event, he's creepy.

I think the guy said his name was Ethan Ro, not Rome as people are posting.

The title of the ep was "Raised by Another".

Ethan Ro is an anagram of Another.

The guy said his name was Ethan Rom R-O-M (one of them spelled it out and the other confirmed it).

Can somebody do me a huge favor and recap last night episode for me? Please!!!

Dammit, I came home sick from work, took a cold medicine and nap and end it up sleeping through the night.

Now I know the meaning of pain, waking up at 6:00 am on Thursday morning and realizing that you missed a new episode of Lost. Aaaahhhh!

There should be a nugget up by noon, and a all-inclusive recap in four days or so...

As an Ontarian (where 'Ethan' claimed to be from) the name Rom stood out as a possible alias. The Royal Ontario Museum is a museum here in Toronto. I don't know if this supports the idea that he might have been part of an earlier scientific expedition to the island with the French woman, possibly 'Alex'.

Damn, this show's getting good! (yes, I know it was good from the start)

I doubt Ethan=Alex. He's in his late 30's, too old to be the son of Frenchie. Not to mention his accent.

BTW, Ethan debuted last week, he only had a couple lines but I noticed him because I recognized the actor from his film roles.

Also, did Hurley specifically say that it was Ethan who was not on the manifest, or did they just cut right to him implying that was the case?

I agree that the business with the psychic stretches the "scientific" angle the producers have been claiming for the show. If they allow that, pretty much anything goes from here on out.

Damn, what a great show.

The psychic angle puts a new spin on things, and I still think a logical scientific storyline could work in conjunction.

No matter how much it is implied, there is really no way to prove the guy was really psychic, knew the plane would crash, etc. Sure, the implications are there, but I think it's just to add a creepy layer to things.

I love Kate bigtime, but man oh man: Claire

And ETHAN ROM is an anagram for "The Moran".

Makes you think...

The Psychic dude said that ONLY Claire could raise the baby, otherwise, it will turn evil. Thats why when he mentioned sending claire to LA to give the baby to a couple, it was really fishy. If Claire was to die..then basically the whole bit about claire needing to raise the baby...was..a waste of time? LIke the creators have said..nothing is done without reason

Could it be that the "psychic" had something to do with the plane crash? Perhaps he caused it, or knew if it beforehand (not in a magic, psychic way)? I don't think that showing a psychic putting Claire on a plane that crashes stretches the scientific angle. Once again, the writers are just trying to make us think one thing, when in actuality they are setting up something else.

No, they cut to Ethan confronting Claire and Charlie before Hurley revealed who it was.

Are you sure about Hurley cutting out? I am fairly sure he said Ethan was the one not on the manifest??

Great episode last night. Once Hurley said that there was one extra person not on the list, I knew it was Ethan -- he's just too odd-looking.
