I saw Evangiline on Dave last night. It was really good. She mentioned this was her first speaking role and that she was flying back today to start filming again. Dave showed one of her commercials for a phone chat line.

She's my least favorite character on the show. For some reason I just find her annoying as hell. And the love crap between her and Jack is IMO unbelievable, especially her overreacting when Jack got trapped in the caves.
Still a great show though.

The wife had peanut butter all of the time, too, when she was preggers.

I came here hoping that there would be some agreement that
but supposedly that is the one option that isn't true (according to published interviews), so that leaves only one other option

Quake, is the preview you saw the one they showed after the episode? Because I've seen it a few more times and with the quick cuts I'm sure they are trying to make us believe what you are thinking. But the more I see the preview the more I think it is Sayid's flashback.

The backstory from the Korean couple is from the wife's POV because I doubt the husband has any clue about the wife learning English and having a plan to disappear from the face of the earth (without the hubby, not with the hubby).

Why have the dropped the whole monster plot-line. Sure there are boars on the island but that sure wasn't a boar shaking those trees or pulling Weiss out of the cockpit window. It wasn't the polar bear either (pulling him out). Speaking of the polar bear, how it got there has not been mentioned sine they shot it.

It would seem that knowing there is some huge fauna-shaking entity that can pull a pilot out of a cockpit and lob up into the trees out there would be in the forefront of those in the know.
My guess is once we get backstories of the main survivors in the open, the plot will reintroduce the whole "thing in the jungle" in time for sweeps - though the 11/17 ep looks like it could be a move in that direction.
That is, if the preview is not a
Spoiler:
It's like the X-Files did with the whole alien conspiracy story arc. It would disappear without a mention for weeks, and then during sweeps it would rise up again.

As for the "monster", the producers said it would take a backseat starting with episode 3 to allow more character development.

Outstanding episode, I think it was Locke that wacked Sayid over the head. He's the only one thus far that believes in the miracles being set forth by the island and his obvious, It must be Sawyer speech made it even more obvious.
Loving this show more each week.

As far as Locke being the one who hit Sayid, I think that's too obvious. And I believe the next scene after he was hit over the head was of Locke talking to Charlie in the caves.

it's probably just me, but i think the show is moving a little slow... i don't really care too much about the character's backstories, i'd much rather learn about the island and how they interact w/ each other on the island than having whole episodes devoted to their pasts

As for the flashbacks, how else are you going to get to know the character? They could have a fireside chat every week with a different character telling their name, where they're from, what they do, what their favorite ice cream is... yada, yada, yada. Pretty boring.
I like it the way it is.
