OK, my PVR once again cut off the last minute or so. The last thing that I got was Jack telling Kate that his father died in Sydney, and her saying that she was sorry. What happened after that?
He said, "Me too." That's it.

Speaking of killing for food, I'd keep the dog away from the Koreans

ALERT ALERT

This show ran long on the East Coast Feed and by the time I found out, the buffer on my Tivo had gone past the part where it continued.

I'm going to have to watch the end of the West Coast feed now!

I can see some of the backstory flashbacks being a bit tiresome. I found myself losing focus during today's flashbacks.

Personally for me, this show keeps getting better and better. I haven't been this hooked on a show since the first season of Twin Peaks.

I found Locke talk with Jack about the island very interesting, he almost made it sound like "Fantasy Island".

Finally, we get to see character development of the Korean couple.

Just one question,
Spoiler:
can anybody tell me what happened to the body of Jack's father and why it wasn't in the casket?

Did anyone else crave bottled water while watching this episode? I just drank a whole bottle!

When they first starting showing the flashbacks of Jack as a boy, for a minute I thought they were going for a "Big" vibe and make it so that Jack was a kid on the plane, but after the crash he got his wish to be an adult.

It seemed to me that he wasn't able to talk the gate attendant to let the corpse onboard, but the casket was okay.

Good thinking. But Jack looked surprised that there was no corpse. Perhaps they lied to him and did something with the body.

I also thought this one dragged a little. Except for the scenes with Locke. He is a great character. Just when it started to get good it was over. Should be a 90 min show.

It's not the fault of TiVo. ABC is running the show a minute over, no doubt getting an extra minute of commercials in at a higher rate than the show that follows. We could set the TiVo to run that minute over but it's a problem if you're TiVoing a show on another channel in the next hour (as of now, I'm TiVoing Kevin Hill).

I think I'm going to start TiVoing Smallville at 7:00 and taping Lost to watch after it. I hate missing that last little bit.

The shakey-cam was a little much in tonight's episode.

I recognized Jack's father being the same guy playing the dad of Marie and Kate Warner on "24: season 2".

So now we know why Jack thinks he isn't good enough to lead.

I had to chuckle when Kate got her "sheriff" star from the redneck Sawyer. Funny how people's roles in this new society is getting flipped from their previous roles in life.

So what did happen to Jack's dad's body...

Pretty lame episode.

I'm guessing the punchline was the coffin and waterfall.

Then, I wonder why Jack just got on the plane? Why not just wait for the paperwork to get done correctly. Can't really have a funeral without the body, can you? A memorial service, yes, but not a full-blown funeral.

I thought his body was on the plane and that
Spoiler:
his spirit is now roaming the island or something along those lines.

I know it sounds stupid but what Locke said to Jack about the island make me think that it has some sort of "power".

That's what I thought too.

Jadzia, I got up and had a tall glass of cold water after the episode finished.

Well the casket didn't look sealed. Maybe the body fell out during the crash landing and only the casket remained. Realizing he still can't bury his dad and get it behind him he smashes it out of frustration. Of course I have no idea, and am pretty much just rambling.

I wonder if there is something up with the hobbit's tattoo. It seems they were making a point of showing it when he was giving the girl water. It looked like a phrase probalbly something about the one bottle of water to rule them all.

The first half was pretty boring until Locke found Jack. But I guess they all can't be criminals. The jackass redneck is growing on me

The tattoo said "Living is easy with eyes closed." I'm not going to bother analyzing it. Do it yourself:

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me
Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever

I'd have to agree, it was one of the weaker episodes so far. But, still entertaining.

That was the last straw: future episodes have now been padded 2 minutes on the tail end.
