my brother and i just watched it and were wondering if they got stuck on jurassic park. i thought it was good. i much rather would have liked two hours of this than the bachelor. for those out there who have seen the leaked pilot, how much was different?

JJ's already admitted that it's not a T-Rex dinasour/monster etc. from what I recall. The majority of the emphasis will be placed on the characters, their dynamic with one another, and their particular situation. The way ABC left this short in order to highlight "The Bachelor" is truly a disgrace. The complete pilot really went into the background of the other characters and introduced an interesting question with regard to the radio signal source. Now, all this gets left behind for the majority of viewers while they imply to this new audience that this show is some type of Jurassic Park and leave it with an implied sci-fi/supernatural cliff-hanger which isn't coming. I'm hating how ABC is treating and promoting this show and it's only been the first episode.

Ok... So.... If "someone" had "Lost 01x01-02 Pilot (VCD-TV)" (but hadn't viewed it yet), and missed tonight's ep. (snuck up on me)...

Is it preferable to just watch the "leaked" pilot (and skip the next aired ep.?), or to somehow acquire tonight's airing and tivo it from here on out?

Note: This "someone" does not have HD, so that's not an issue.

According to my Tivo, ABC is airing a two-hour version of the pilolt episode on Saturday, 10/2. The description sounds like a blend of the first two episodes, so I am not sure if this is the original 2 hour version or just back-to-back episodes of the first two shows.

My Tivo is picking it up as a "new" episode.

If true - maybe my wife will keep watching...She loved Felicity and Alias is currently her favorite show - it would be natural for her to like this one, too. Especially if it's supposed to be character-driven.

Solid premiere.

Nice to see Greg Grunberg (Eric from Alias) show up briefly as the pilot. Also nice to see Emilie de Ravin (Tess from Roswell) back on TV.

Is it possible that the two-hour pilot everybody (but me) has seen was just broken in half for the first two episodes, instead of cut down to one hour?

Also, what did I miss?

The beginning of the show got cut off, so when it started it was Matthew Fox standing in the bamboo, and then he wandered to the beach. It seemed pretty abrupt...was there anything before that?

That's basically what's happened.

The show starts abruptly just about where you came in, with Fox on his back among the trees.

So the previously-available pilot's lack of subtitles for Jin's dialogue was possibly not a creative intention? It's not a big deal, but I kind of liked the lack of understanding without them; Daniel Dae Kim's and Yunjin Kim's acting is certainly expressive enough to get the gist of their present situation across, I think.

I can't wait to get a high-quality screengrab of O'Quinn opposite Abram's directing credit--what a great frame that is.

Nope, it started with him laying on the ground and getting up.

I liked it. Good to see Grunberg make an apperance.

Thought it was one of the best "pilots" I have ever seen.

Very intense and very engrossing all at the same time. I think I was hooked by the first commercial break.

Hope they have not landed on Jurrassic Park or Predator island. I just wonder what they are stranded with?

In this day and age of satellite's everywhere, can a plane remain missing?

I think she was just trying to cope with the situation and telling herself that this will all be over soon.

This was really good, and I think it fulfilled my expectations from the teasers and promos earlier. I'm hooked, and that's rare in a time where almost nothing new on TV interests me. I'm not a "sci-fi" person, either.

I don't think I am going to be a big fan of this show, basically because of the whole mysterious creature scenario. I was expecting it to be more psychological and everyone struggling to survive and maintain, kinda like Tom Hanks in Castaway

Interesting, start. If I would have known that they were going to show the 2hr version on sunday, I would have avoided this.

I enjoyed this, but I was ready to turn it off if a freakin dinosuar showed up. I hope this show's plot doesn't get to riddiculous like Alias did.

I liked it. Alot of pretty graphic stuff on there. Not that I care any at all. I think the plot has promise, but I am afraid that it's not something that could be sustained over a full year. Granted, we've all only seen one episode, but it's just hard to imagine what you can do with 24 episodes with people stuck on an island. Ahhh, who am I kidding. Survivor did it. Why can't Lost?

What's up with the dog?

Looks like the hobbit is a bad guy.

James Dean character will end up being a good guy.

8 month pregnant woman on a trans-Pacific flight?

Doctor? check. Doctor leaving the injured to go on an island expedition? check. Injured person dies? Nope. Did they learn nothing from Top Gun? NEVER leave your wingman.

We need more women in their underwear.

So far I like it!

I don't think that is true. Would have to be pretty damned huge for it to be right.

The plane breaks up in the air, and most of the survivors have no injuries?
