Boomtown- I can't explain why, but the theme just fits.

Didn't see these mentioned, but can't imagine two more fitting themes:

Amazing Race
X-Files

Just thought of a great one. Not sure about it "fitting" the show so much as just being a great theme and a great show.

I disagree. They butchered Big Star's song and got Cheap Trick to re-record it. While I like the tv show version, I hate it in protest.

I so, so agree with your disagreement. The original "In The Street" opening was awesome. The Cheap Trick version stanks the joint out. Really disappointing.

Drew Carey Show when it opened with Five O'Clock World.

This thread has started me thinking about WKRP in Cinncinnati. Upon first consideration, I think that the song is about Andy Travis, who starts his new job at WKRP in the first episode. Who is "Baby", that was seemingly abandoned? Old girlfriend, ex-wife, illegitimate child? But then I started to consider that the song is actually about Les Nessman, since Richard Sanders sings the title song. Maybe Les has a shadowy past and is a real love 'em and leave 'em kinda guy.
