Theme songs that really 'fit' the show

Right now I would have to say that the opening theme to Rescue Me, "C'Mon C'Mon" by The Von Bondies has to rate among the top ten best TV show theme songs of all time.
This song just really seems to fit that show.

What other show songs really fit the show?

How about:

Hawaii Five-O
COPS
Bonanza
The Sopranos
Miami Vice
Hill Street Blues
Friends
All in the Family
OZ
MASH
Gilligan's Island??

What theme songs do you feel really went perfect with their show?

Michael Corvin 09-09-04 03:35 PM

MASH? :hscratch: the name and lyrics are 'suicide is painless.' Not very fitting for a comedy. I know the lyrics are absent from the intro, but that is what I hear when I see the show.

Cheers

That 70s Show. I always thought it was the perfect opening.

"The Shield"

Gives me chills every time.

Land of the Lost
Just about any sitcom from the 60's and 70's, because just about all themes for those shows fit really well with the show.
Cheers
Frasier.

Actually, just kidding on the last one.

The Apprentice's use of "Money" really fits the show...and Trump.

"Where Everybody Knows Your Name" really fits Cheers.

"All My Rowdy Friends" makes everyone think of Monday Night Football - even though it was a hit prior to being used (and lyrically changed) for the show.

Are these all Alan Thicke songs? ;)
I still know how to play the Doogie Howser theme. There's a show I wouldn't mind seeing on DVD, or at least some reruns on cable for crying out loud!

That might be my favorite theme of all time. Definitely the funniest

For some reason Curb Your Enthusiasm's little theme works so well... because Larry David's so damn goofy.

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air everytime you watched it, it gave you the general plot of the show.

The Wayans Brother's "We're brothers and we're colored" No argument from me on those two things.

OZ- The only show to give anal rape a soundtrack.

Family Matters- It was sappy and corney just like the show and the family but it stuck in your head.
