I just got the Ali G in Da house dvd yesterday and tried to watch some of it here in the office, and let's say it's not all that suitable for office viewing.

Basically he is in character as Ali G, or Borat or the new one, and he interviews people as if he is a real person. The one with the FBI is hilarious.
It's like a mock interview however the interviewee does not realise it's a mock interview.

Just a bump, as this airs tonight at 12:30 on HBO..

I've heard a bunch of people claim that he might not work in America, since a lot of what he does is make fun of Americans, but that just shows how much other cultures misunderstand our humor. Some people may not like it, but I think the majority -- particularly the HBO audience (which doesn't offend easily and has a higher tolerance for intelligent commentary) -- is going to love it. Contrary to popular belief, we make fun of ourselves pretty well.
Anyway, if tonight's episode is any indication of what's to come, it appears he's made the transition perfectly. Brilliant stuff and plenty of his typically subtle word-switches. I love HBO drama series, but it's great to have some
comedy back for a bit too.

The thing about americans is that there's SUCH a HUGE range with you guys. I mean, tons of people love Micheal Moore, and tons of people like Jerry Falwell. It's NUTS. Some people would shoot you if you insulted the american flag, some would say "peace man!" and let you go on. It's so weird. Every country has big differences, but never are so many people so divided on so many things. No wonder you guys had a war with yourselfs

This current crop of HBO friday night is the worst in my memory. After that boring mess that was the Bill Mahr show, Ali G was just not funny.
That whole british/arab/hip hop thing it's just boring and corny. When he went in the house with the fake cop I went back to DVD viewing.
How this guy has a show over Chris Rock I will never know.

I thought this guy would be good for a funny segment on the Daily Show or something like that, but I grew tired of him watching a whole show of it.
His interviews remind me a lot of what they do on the Daily Show.

the show was decent, i won't be glued to the time spot as if it were mr. show.
am i wondering how popular ali g is now back in england. i can't help but help think the show would of been much better if was on 2 years ago or so.
