P.S. No offense, but this is not for the casual dieter. If you can easily lose 10-15 pounds, then this product is not for you. Sea Anemone I think it's Greg Cynamoun or something.

Yay, someone else has seen them and is annoyed by that guy!
That was another thing that I hated-- the condescending way way he said "No offense, but if you only have 10-15 "vanity" pounds to lose, then Cortislim is NOT for you." (Ooh, pardon me.)

I have described these ads to my friends and they have not seen them since I don't think they air on regular network TV.

It's funny, I never see most of the network ads because I always Tivo those shows. I'm more likely to see cable channel ads since I'll put on a channel like CNN in the background when I'm not actively watching a program off of Tivo.

My favorite CortiSlim ad is when he tries to embarrass overweight people in front of their friends. "You don't want me pointing this out to you in front of your cool friends, but you're FAT. F-A-T fat! Too late to change the channel. I've outed you!!! Now get CortiSlim, because it's not your fault you're FAT!!!!"

My body produces a hormone called rage when I see those commercials. I am fine with this because it is not my fault.

(And now back to eating my pail of marshmallow fluff.)

Is this the one with the people who lost like 80 lbs taking this pills? I am trying to understand the justification for asking only people who need to lose 20 lbs or more to use the pills.

Wouldn't the pills work regardless of how many lbs you want to lose? Are they only trying to target people who need to lose a lot weight? Seems counter-intuitive to me.

It's subtle advertizing. Hardly anyone wants to lose "5-10 pounds." Almost everyone who would use that product wants to lose more than 10 pounds, and by advertizing it this way, they imply that the product is ultra-powerful and it's only for people who really need to lose weight (read: everyone who considers buying the product in the first place). They also plant the seed that they're a responsible company for not advertizing their kickass product to just anyone. It's all bullshit, of course, but I suspect it's pretty effective.

CortiSlim - It's not your fault you hate our commercials!

Whats the one diet commercial with the really expensive diet pills ($150 dollars a bottle!) and has that serious sounding woman with the scary eyes?

Oh, goodness.....

Another company commercial for which I'm sick of? Target's ads. For some reason, I hate 'em!

Hands down, it's the Welch's grape juice commerical with the cutesy, Village of the Damned, Jon Benet Ramsey-wannabe little blonde girl (although I've seen another one with a boy which is almost as bad). She's talking about Welch's grape juice in such a cloying manner I want to puke.

A runner-up for me is "Digital photos? But we don't have a digital camera!" Just because it's so stupid in theory.

The Enzyte commercials with the whistling and the people with permanent smiles are the worst to me. They often show two of them in a row.

Just thinking about that Boost Mobile ad makes me want to put my fist through a tv.

Very true. I remember when they used to list the side-effects of some prescription drugs some of them were pretty bad; internal bleeding (which may be fatal), vomiting etc...

Well, after reading this thread, I am even more happy with my Tivo. I only recognize one of the listed commercials.
I don't have Tivo, and I still don't recognize any of these. I do not watch commercials. Unless it's for a new Burger King sandwich or something. Then I'm all ears.

I was trying to think of the product, all I could remember was the annoying commercial. That's easily the most annoying campaign for me.

The McDonalds "I'm loving it" is right up there too.

I have to agree with the CortiSlim ads. They make me want to smash that Cynaumon guy's face in. He comes across as such a pompous ass. I don't know at what point they really started to annoy me, but it has gotten to the point where even his body language during the commercials piss me off.

DasMonkey is absolutely right. The whole point of the commercial is to do nothing more than pander to the more "Jabba-esque" people out there. By him saying "ohh...no offense, but if you are only looking to lose 10-15 lbs. then Corti Slim is NOT for you", it is attempting to make the really obese people who want to lose weight without working hard think "Oh my God! There is finally something that will work. This must be a miracle pill!" The fact that they do this, as well as the little "tell us how much weight you want to lose, and if your goal is healthy, we will guarantee results" thing just tries to convey the image that 1) they have a clue what they are doing, and 2) they sincerely care about you.

I truly feel sorry for the people who are so desperate that they would believe this kind of garbage. The funniest part about the whole "if you are only looking to lose 10 lbs. then Corti Slim is not for you" line is that those people are likely to have the best results using the product, since just about anything they will be losing will be water weight.

Horrible, horrible commercial, and if I ever come across the Sea Anemone on the street, I am going to light his ass up like a Christmas tree.

Oh, I know.

It's a shame, because his print ads are funny. He smiles in them and they're gimmicky. In the movies section of the Chicago Sun-Times, he had an ad that asked "Do you want to
KILL
BILL
s?"

I'm in the same boat with the ReplayTV. I need one for the radio. I've been listening to the sports station here and they play the same commercials every day. A couple of them drive me up the wall.

Aww...I actually like this one. Okay, the song is annoying, the product looks stupid and it doesn't really imprint the product in your brain too well but, but...okay fine, I think the "white lady" is hot.

Also, it has real "so bad it's good" potential, every time it comes on I can just imagine the choreographer just off screen screaming "Jazz hands people, JAZZ HANDS!!!", and that makes me chuckle a little.

Mine is for Seasonale... a new birth control pill that "lets you have jun 4 periods a year". Aside from the pink dots floating all over the place, the whole concept just doesn't sound RIGHT.

"You also should expect to have more bleeding or spotting between your menstrual periods than if you were taking another oral contraceptive... 1 in 3 women may have 20 or more days of unplanned bleeding or spotting."

The ones that annoy me most are the ones that try to scare people about germs. They usually have big-eyed blond children. "You have GERMS in your kitchen!" No duh. You also have air in your kitchen. If you wipe down your counter with soap and water, and wash your dishes, you'll be fine.

Or that toilet bowl brush with the disposible head that you just fluuush away. It's to protect your family from the germs on regular brushes. Hey, buddy, if your toilet bowl cleaner can't even kill the germs on the scrub brush, I'm buying a brand that can.

I think the most disgusting commercial I have ever seen is that one for the prescription drug for nail infections. It shows this little cartoon fungus and he rips up a guys toenail and climbs inside.

Ugh! That is just the nastiest thing, even if it is a cartoon.
