Hmmm. Not sure if I care about The Soup with no Joel McHale. I'll probably give this an episode or two, but I'm not optimistic.

Re: The Soup (E!) - Series Thread

I haven’t watched since Greg Kinnear was hosting. I honestly can’t remember the last time I watched E!

That channel went from one I’d check in on daily for actual entertainment news to a complete pile of shit that spent all its time creaming itself over the Kardashians.

Back when we had a snark deficit, this was a fun show. Today, snark is everywhere and it's annoying.

I watched the channel regularly since it was "Movie Time". I was sad to see Kinnear leave "Talk Soup", though I thought John Henson made it watchable again. By the time Joel McHale hit his stride, "The Soup" was the only "E" program I was watching, and now I haven't watched anything on there in years. I'll check out the new version, but I'm going in with low expectations.

Maybe that new host is similar in style to Lilly Singh

Jade Catta-Preta is ready to stir up some laughs at pop culture's expense. "The Soup" premieres Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 10|9c on E!

Re: The Soup (E!) - Series Thread

She will probably spend most of the show dissing the Kardashians, Real Housewives, and the Bachelor shows so it will not be the same show from the 90's.

That isn’t any different than what McHale did.

Maybe it will be all Sally Jesse Raphael and Chevy Chase Show references.

She looks like the child of Lady Gaga and Whitney Cummings. Will try the show since I always liked the concept

If I had known it was not before I watched the video, I would have guessed that was Whitney Cummings.

Re: The Soup (E!) - Series Thread

This is awful.

She doesn’t have the chops to carry this show.

This is the lightest of "light viewing", so it'll do. I don't mind Jade Cafeteria all that much. I think she's improved slightly but reading material off a prompter and making it sound "live" or genuine or whatever you care to call it is an art, and she's certainly not there yet.

I'm fine with Jade, I just don't think the writing is as good as it was with Joel. I'm still watching it but it's not something I get excited about.

Re: The Soup (E!) - Series Thread

My dvr caught a new ep of this last night.

Was the 6th show to air.

I thought it might have been cancelled.
Also I have seen that the host has been in a half dozen commercials recentLy including of of the Commercials with Flo, is that Progressive?

I think they only shot a few episodes before the shutdown. It was really terrible. Did this have “new”
scenes/news that are recent?
